Its a prius but I got lucky and found a buyer willing to give 3k. As is
Go on a Toyota or Prius forum. They will know right away what is wrong. It might not be a throttle body but a throttle position sensor or a crank position sensor. Basically without one of those things telling the computer info, it doesn't know where the engine is in its cycle and the computer is completely lost. My crank position sensor went bad and the dash lite up. Had a friend in the car and we were able to push it to a side street. Called my friend an Uber cause he had to be somewhere and was calling tow trucks to get my car the 2 miles back to my house. By time the Uber came, the crank sensor must have cooled enough to give info and allow to start again. I drove it home and beat the Uber to my house. Forums told me it was a crank position sensor on my specific car. Swapped it out in 30 minutes.
Don't be quick to sell the car. The person buying it probably knows it could be a quick fix. Do your research and try to figure out what it could be. Even if it's the battery, I know Prius batteries are in cells and you can test each cell and swap them out with used ones from eBay. They are like $25 each and only one or two go bad at a time.
