Exactly Criz. It's impossible to accurately predict the end outcome of a prospect. Those that seem obvious to make it fail and then there are those that are obscure as prospects make it big, and everything in between.Very true CDAV... Which might explain why I am suddenly interested in Will Benson again..
If you listen to some, they'll say Cleveland needs to draft more "contact orientated' hitters. Thing is, they have no proof that such hitters make it more often than those drafted merely on potential. I'm sorry, but hitters like Tyler Freeman and Owen Miller are not common place, and suggesting that they draft more like them after they've demonstrated their abilities is shortsighted IMO. Now I don't have any answers to this dilemma, but I do wonder if their draft strategy may need to be altered. It seems as though the "can't miss" #1 picks like Lindor and Frazier have found success to varying degrees, but the Indians' strategy was different for them. They spent the money on those 2 as opposed to drafting someone like Naquin or Benson for underslot money only to spend more in the 2nd round or beyond.
