Cleveland Browns 2021 Regular Season: RIP

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The thing with Teller is, I would have guessed he would have been north of $15 million.

And with a team this talented and this young, a lot of making it work is simply trimming the margins slightly.

We got the what? Second best RB in the league to sign with the #6 AAV.

We got the best guard in the league to sign with the #3 AAV, some $4 mil below the AAV of the top OG.

These contracts get cheaper year over year too.

Tip of the cap to BOTH the players and FO, in coming together to try to compromise slightly on dollars in order to win.

Feels great seeing these guys get locked up and at amounts that are palatable to the team.

The last sentence can’t be stressed enough.

The Browns have good players worth keeping and are… on team friendly deals.

We all want our team to win...but as I've gotten older, it also matters to me that I actually like the guys I'm rooting for. Even though we had one of the top 2 NBA teams in 2017, I just didn't like that team and was glad when that era finally ended. It was more headache and drama than joy.

But I like these Browns, and I like these Cavs. And that makes a whole lot of difference in how much I love following these teams.

Yes, suspicious in a good way

We made it past halfway point of the season. I'm hoping I have time to knock out an article on the Teller signing, but since a rough start to the season he has been near perfect.

If the Browns wanted to see something this season to meet Teller's numbers, they likely wanted to see him handle his tougher matchups without holding penalties and stay healthy. After a tough outing against the great Chris Jones, that's exactly what Teller has accomplished so far.

Can't keep both him and Hooper, so one of them will have to go. It won't surprise me if we franchise or transition tag Njoku.

Hooper's contract is tricky because of guarantee's.

With Ward, Njoku and Clowney still left I wonder if Landry gets cut and we take a 2nd or 3rd round WR and keep Higgins on a cheap contract.

Conklin will be cut possibly, he has 6 mill in dead cap in 2023 even though he isnt under contract past 2022. If we cut, all 9 mill in dead cap converts to 2022, but saves us his 12 mill salary. With Hubbard and his 6 mill not signed past this year, cutting conklin and hubbard walking saves 9 mill next year and 6 mill the year after all of which would be dead money in 2023.

Means we have to find a new right tackle, as Hance isnt it and Hudson has been awful, but early draft or free agency?

I think this really might be Landry's last year, i know he is signed one more year, but is he worth 14.5 to keep?

Clowney jumps around allot, but he seems happy hear, if i had to pick one of the 3 of Conklin, Landry or Clowney, i pick Clowney.

I think Ward despite injuries is important to keep, he proved Sunday that when healthy, he is a top 5 corner in this league, although Newsome might challange him soon as best corner on the team.

First 3 rounds should probably be some combo of WR, DE, and RT.
