Game Thread | Game #47 | Warriors @ Cavs | Jan. 20, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
"A night where a bunch of guys came in with force and played with confidence." Kerr postgame.

" I like the physicality and force we played with." Kerr.

There’s so much blame to go around that this should be put on the players, coaches, dance team, old fart dancers and the shitty popcorn. Only decent entertainment was the performance painter at halftime.
It's a shame that there will only ever be one Gregg Poppovich. His teams are undermanned now, but a Cavs team like today would be chewed out on the first timeout and that point on would be dialed in baskeball.

I don't think we technically overachieved last season. Winning the play-in would earn that.

Tonight's game just screams an underachieving second half.

This team has too many problems to fix them all at this year’s trade deadline. Don’t make a move that limits our ability to make trades in the future. That is, for example, no Tim Hardaway Jr please.

A part of me is happy to see a loss like this, for this reason. If anything they’ve gotten away with some terrible habits and they are much worse than their record.

Now, bigger picture, I need to see what Okoro and Mobley can do, win or lose. Get them involved. I’d like to see Mobley make some improvements on his aggressiveness on the defensive boards. Seems if you box him out with 1 lb of force he’s out of the picture.
He’s not going to elevate his game until you get him a strength coach and a big man mentor, like Garnett.

Chones- 'You can't give guys what they don't have. If you're a good team, you
find a way to beat the teams you're supposed to."

Its just a great player covering up bad coaching. In the long run it won’t work.
Mitch should sit out for a while, to force the FO’s hand, like Bron did in 2015.

We need a coach and more shooting. Spida should protest. I’m sure it gets exhausting to carry a team on your back.

Team is no fun to watch. I thought this year was going to be similar to the early LeBron years where they played fast and free and every night was must see TV. It has quickly morphed into the late LeBron years of mailing games in and trying to flip a switch late to salvage enough wins to stay afloat in the standings.

They are poorly coached and soft. An unenviable combination. There is enough talent that they should still make the playoffs, but I’d bet on this group being bounced in the play-in again before making it out of the first round.

Can you imagine being a Warriors fan right now and being so proud ?

My stepson told me tonight at dinner before the game that his buddy put down $1000 on the Cavs to win. Payout was.only $200, but the guy considered it a sure thing.

Ouch.
Betting on the Cavs without Mitchell to beat the Warriors. SMART!
