It was crazy, because in 1989, I like other younglings of the time, did not have any real inkling of wrestling outside of the cartoony WWF since 1985. I had heard of Dusty Rhodes, but was not familiar with his work.
And then he put out the working man vignettes. And then he was just amazing in the ring; it looked sooooo out of place with his mannerisms and way of talking. He looked silly in them polka dots, strutting around with his huge ass, but he was just so cool and fun. He was so charismatic and full of energy.
