2023-24 Season | Game #37 | Cavs vs Nets @ Paris | Jan. 11, 2024 | 2:00 p.m. | NBA-TV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd prefer not to give up 40+ points in a 4th (or any other) quarter.

We held them to 102 and they only made 37 buckets, 8 of them threes.

It was an excellent defensive performance despite losing Strus and have TT ejected.

The score was high in the fourth in part because of all the fouling by the Nets that prolonged the game.

Another ugly, disastrous win.

The criticism of Mitchell is risible.
Is it criticism of Mitchell or the inability to come close to maximizing the team’s offensive potential with a player like Mitchell on the floor, which comes back to coaching?

I'm happy for the other Cavs fans who were here, particularly the ones who never get a chance to see the Cavs play in person normally.

That was as much of a home experience being away from home as there could be. Shout-out to the operations team!

Which games?

All 82?

70?

60?

50?

And there a lot of teams in the league you whom can make that exact same statement you just made “any coach in the league could win with this team”

As in win as much as we are currently winning with this roster. There was no gameplan. Mitchel just went crazy from deep

They scored 111 in a game were they only made 29.5% of their 3P and many of the misses were open shots off good looks.

With Strus not coming back into the game after one shift.

Against a team that while not great, doesn’t suck and eventually upped their effort and cohesion.

Would like the second half to have been a little smoother and less ISO heavy but the recent offense has been very good and I don’t think tonight’s offense was as bad as being suggested.

There was no gameplan? The entire game? On both sides of the ball.

Are you being literal?

I get the impression some would prefer to lose playing pretty basketball than winning ugly.

It’s about the bigger picture, we all watched how the playoffs went last year. This is the same style of basketball. The Nets are not a very good team either. If we play like this VS Boston, 76rs, Bucks, Clippers etc we’re getting smoked. Couldn’t even beat the trash Knicks like this

What offensive potential? We were missing Strus, Garland and Mobley; Merrill had an off game and Wade / Okoro / TT are limited offensively.

We’ve been sharing the ball most of the past twelve games but today we leaned on Mitchell and LeVert. It worked but people are still pissed.

It is necessary to adjust to win games. Merrill was 2/11, Ice 4/12.

Mitchell 45-12-6 and we win. I’m happy.

Individual stats.

Starters:
Okoro 12-4-0 with a block in 35 minutes.
Wade 4-1-2 with 2 steals in 27 minutes
Allen 12-12-4 with 2 steals and 4 blocks in 38 minutes. He was 3-5 fg. He should have at least 15 shots per game.
Strus 0-0-0 Out with a sore knee after 7 minutes
Mitchell 45-12-6 with 4 steals in 41 minutes. Strus being out is one reason for him taking 30 shots. Only 4-12 from 3, but every one seemed vital.

Bench: 39-18-4
LeVert 21-3-1 with a steal and a block in 35 minutes. He took some of Strus' time.
Merrill 6-9-1 with a steal in 32 inutes. Off shooting night, 2-11 from 3, but 9 rebounds helped.
Niang 10-4-2 in 16 minutes. Productive
Thompson 1-2-0 with a steal in 10 minutes. Ejected due to 'violent act', flagrant 2.

Only 16 assists, partly due to poor shooting, partly due to lack of ball movement in the 2nd half.

CPJ would've helped.

On offense definitely not. We barely passed the ball more then twice per half court set. We only had 16 assists. You won’t win many games like that

According to the broadcast, Dan brought over a good number of the organization on the non basketball ops side for the trip as well, which is an awesome gesture
