That would literally be the worst thing for the Cavs short term(this season) and long term
DG needs to play his way through it and be peaking physically and mentally in April not in February. The trade deadline is over. He is here m. The best version of this year Cavs team will be with Garland back on his game, hitting threes, breaking down defense sets for layups and assists.
For the long term, showing other teams that you’re benching the guy or cutting his minutes only signals them to lowball in any trade talks that could occur after the season.
Be frustrated with him all you want. Question the long term fit all you want. But for the remainder of this season, him playing through the physical and mental obstacles he’s hit right now is in the best interests of the Cavs and their playoff hopes

i really like this lineup. good defenders, diverse offense. willing passers.
mobley has thwarted barnes the whole 2nd period, keeps having to pass to players who aren't familiar playing together.

@Sir'Dom Pointer youve been correctly critical of Mobley and Allen’s screening the past couple seasons.
To my eye, this has markedly improved over the course of this run. Allen makes solid contact on the dribble handoff actions and Mobley is regularly doing an OK job setting screens off the ball.
My hypothesis is that this is why the pairing all of a sudden looks totally fine on offense again. They’re able to better support a motion-based offense.
Have you noticed the same improvement?

He came in around the 8 minute mark of the second quarter of the last game.
Garland is now returning to the game at the late first quarter spot Merrill was coming in previously and the benefit to that is Caris isn’t running point alone at that point as was happening when Garland was out.
