2023-24 Season | Game #52 | Sixers @ Cavs | Feb. 12, 2024 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m just super disappointed in garland… not because he missed it really, but because he didn’t at all look ready to take that shot and barely drew iron ffs. The man seems to wilt consistently in those moments and I was really rooting for that to change just now.

I’m also disappointed that wasn’t Merrill taking that shot. So close to an epic comeback. Damn garland.
I don’t even want Garland on the floor late in close games, he’s never shown the ability to make a play/shot in that spot.

Philly played small and fast. Without Wade we had Niang getting those minutes and he got exposed

Niang was a major contractual overpay. Very unimaginative signing

TBH Strus was an overpay at $16 million/year too but at least he’s pretty solid all round even if he’s not really great at anything

DG nailed a three a minute or two earlier that was wiped off for some foul or timing reason. Missed a final shot. It happens.

JBB under pressure = Terrible rotations, welcome to what we are going to see in the playoffs, zero creativity to try things
Inexcusable that he didn’t play Wade tonight

(Trolling, Dean was inactive tonight due to illness in the event anyone was unaware. As stated in several other posts, believe it was a mistake to not play Merrill in his usual age third quarter/early 4th quarter shift)

Going in to this season I thought Mobley turning the corner offensively was the key to unlocking championship potential. He came back from injury and has resolved that question… meanwhile Garland came back from injury and has me questioning if he can be a max contact caliber guy.

Weird to me that Mobley came back sharper on offense after a knee injury and Garland came back covered in rust with a jaw injury. I’m sure diet (or lack thereof) with the jaw injury contributes to strength and conditioning. Just wild to see two guys with dofferent injuries with a similar timeline come back in two totally different places mentally and physically.

Whew. I don't usually review losses, but we had some good performances in this almost successful comeback.
Strus 10-4-4 in 30 minutes
Mobley 14-10-3 with 2 steals and 4 blocks in 28 minutes. Still minutes restricted.
Allen 21-10-3 with a block in 37 minutes.
Mitchell 36-4-6 with 3 steals in 37 minutes
Garland 21-0-9 with a steal in 31 minutes

We had 3 chances at the end:
1) Mitchell draws a foul
2) Mitchell hits the 2
3) Garland hits the 3.

None of which happens.
