2023-24 Season | Game #52 | Sixers @ Cavs | Feb. 12, 2024 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
really not the game to defend JBBs creativity. i mean, that just wasn't on display tonight unfortunately. shrink the lineup without wade, give niang minutes he hasn't consistently deserved, keep your 3-ball shooter on the bench when you need a 3. i'm not saying merrill should have gotten the shot, but this is not the first time we have seen this.

in jbbs defense the team hasn't needed to win a close game because the 10-man rotation with wade has been throttling teams. but the team will have games that count when a key player is out. we have all seen this before, it's not like posters are making it up.

That last play was pretty shit. Lucky that Garland even got a look to win it off of a loose ball. Garland will catch flack and he probably should not just for this miss, but the totality of him not delivering late in games. Like it or not, you get paid max money, the expectation is that you aren't a negative at the end of games.

Tough loss, nice comeback.

Philly played near perfect to what their current capabilities are and barely scraped that win. Hield+Oubre+Martin+Reed are not gonna shoot that combined percentage+made baskets again, but even so, they did tonight and the Cavs couldn't clamp down for sustained periods of time.

I'm more encouraged that (similar to the Kings and Pistons games) Cleveland can match teams bucket for bucket in these types of matches. The way the 76ers started the game hitting like they were, if this were last year, that would be a guaranteed loss. This year? Not so much.

So you’re the required dude on the internet melting because of the second loss in about a month and a half. Congrats on being that guy.

A lose with good ATO plays with the right players on the floor is different than a lose with two terrible ATO plays and your best 3 point shooter nailed to the bench.

One shows good coaching, the other shows terrible coaching, it was the later tonight

We should just release him, huh.
Also, every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd options in NBA have missed plenty of game tying or winning shots in their career.
The play should be designed for better shooters like Merrill or Mitchell.

The play wasn’t designed for Garland. Did you have an opportunity to watch the game or folllowing on radio/espn box score?

Yup, not having Wade hurt a lot. Both because he’s good and because playing Niang more hurts.
The defensive drop-off is so blatant with Niang. This sort of thing gets even more exposed come playoff time, so let's hope Wade doesn't get sick or hurt then, too. The comeback at the end was impressive, but it wasn't enough. While I'm glad I watched, I'm not surprised at the result, sadly. Can't really afford to lose a guy like Wade when playing a team like the Sixers who have so many weapons on offense.

Several of the Sixers haven’t been with the team a week.

No excuses. Our guys lost a game they had no business losing. Niang’s main contribution was giving up a dumb technical.
Strus’s was unnecessary as well. He knew that was an over and back. Showboated/showed up the refs by doing that toss back

That’s two points right there

Shit, even the correctly called quick foul after Donovan pulled the game to 1 point was unlucky as Strus stole the subsequent pass.

But still, had no business giving up 66 first half points and playing from behind score wise and energy wise to the Sixers w out Embiid and Harris

Really felt the lack of front court depth tonight. The Michelin Man is just not enough when he isnt drilling 3s. And without Wade we had noone else.

This was a weird game that was crazy sloppy, but the box score doesn't represent the reality. Good effort by the 76ers to disrupt. Bad job by the Cavs to react to the disruption.
