Excuse me if this is a bit of a rant but this game was really upsetting. Yes I am a UK fan but damn this loss is inexcusable. UK played scared against a one man South Carolina team (Devin Downey). Downey reminded me of Ben Gordon against Boston in the playoffs last year, hitting ridiculous running bank shots while being double and triple teamed. I give the little guy credit, he played with huge heart. BUT....

UK let the crowd become a factor after several sloppy turnovers and 2 blown layups that should never happen in a Division I bball game, Bledsoe beat his man and just needed to lay it in instead he tries some kind of Nate Robinson dunk contest attempt from way too far out and blows it. Dodson made his best David Wesley impersonation by blowing a breakaway layup with nobody within 20 feet of him.

Downey thoroughly outplayed Wall, crossed him up several times and even though he didn't shoot a great percentage he was able to get any shot he wanted. That's embarrassing considering he's 5'9. So the Wildcats obviously weren't ready to be #1 in the country, and considering Downey's recent play, Wall might not even be SEC player of the year let alone National POY.

K I'm done bitching, 19-1 isn't bad through 20 games considering we start 3 freshman.

Didn't freshmen account for all of UK's points in the second half? I thought that's what I heard Brad Nessler say.

9-29 shooting is just awful. As a matter of fact, if it weren't for the 10 FTs he had made, he would've looked even worse.

They lost because of TOs, plain and simple. They took 7 less shots and shot less FTs as well. I hardly ever follow NCAA, but as I was watching the game, all I heard was how Downey dominated this and that, then saw the dude shot 31%, and shot 45% of his team's total shots... they as a team shot much better than that garbage.

So yes, Kentucky lost that game because they let the crowd take over... not only that, but gave confidence to a guy shooting at a rate that makes Larry Hughes look like a sniper.

Doesn't surprise me they lost, just got the #1 ranking, on the road. They'll bounce back.

My brother goes to USC. Needless to say, he was pretty damn excited when I talked to him last night after the game.
