2023-24 Season | Game #76 | Cavs @ Jazz | April 2, 2024 | 9:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Utah is a very bad team, having lost 10 straight. Without Markkanen, John Collins, and Jordan Clarkson they ended up starting three 20-year-old rookies. Kessler is a pitiful defensive player - the Cavs were getting uncontested dunks almost at will and scored 40 in the first quarter before they stopped going inside and started missing a lot of 3's. Yes, he's a great shot blocker but it's tough to block a shot when you're standing at the free throw line while your man is dunking at the rim. Talk about slow feet - Kessler makes Niang look quick.

I was impressed with that Sensabaugh kid from Ohio State, however. At 6'6", 235 he muscled his way to the rim for layups and also knocked down 3's. He was 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-9 on 3's. He also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Not bad for a rookie who was picked 28th last year.

I'm glad that the Cavs got a game like this before the bullshit that is coming up.

That being said, there were segments in this game that made me grumble: gambling too much on shooters on defense, dudes need to go for those defensive rebounds harder. don't just leave it to JA and Evan (speaking to LeVert mostly). LeVert in transition for some reason was ass. But that was mostly it. The team cooked like they're supposed to against a team that has no answer for their strengths.

Evan Mobley was COOKING Yurtseven especially. Loved to see it. Loved to see all the offense from Max, Sam, and Georges. Which said nothing for the bigs. DG could basically be an assist machine because everyone was hitting. And he did hit a few needed 3s here and there to keep those possessions out of reach.

Sensabaugh was on the last season wish list for that kind of potential. He got a ton of great looks.

Since he's returned from his injury (the first one) he's put up much better numbers than Barnes. Not even close.
I lean that way because I really like Mobley, but I was just wondering what if we had a SF who was giving us ~20/8/6. SF seems to be the big hole in this team.

Mobley clearly has improved his offensive game - the 3 point improvement in particular is honestly pretty stunning and says a lot about his ability to improve his shot. Extrapolate him out a couple of years and he's a No. 2 scorer.
