Seems like Julian Sayin has been so good he’s pushing to be QB1 this fall. Anyone think he has a legit shot?

My guess is Josh McDaniels. He has 40 million left from his head coaching contract from the Raiders. Probably would like to learn and collaborate with Chip Kelly and Ryan Day. He doesn't have Belichick to go back to at the moment and the Patriots went another direction.

I think all 5 QBs had their moments today. Will Howard and Devin Brown look like they are the top 2 guys right now. Lincoln looks like he is #3 in the pecking order but Air and Sayin both seem to have more natural ability in different ways than Lincoln does. Sayin looks good, I'm still not sure about his air strength but he makes quick reads and gets the ball out quickly. Air Nolan looks like he has better arm strength than Sayin and he is the best runner of all 5 QBs.

I'm not sure Lincoln really has a chance to ever start at Ohio State and wouldn't knock him if he left. It just seems unlikely he is going to out compete Sayin or Air Nolan as they develop and get use to the offense.

I think Will Howard ultimately wins it out and is the starter for next season but I think Devin Brown is going to be a necessary backup to win games. Air Nolan might be #3 QB if Lincoln leaves, just because you could go to a run heavy read option in an emergency situation and still be able to move the ball.

I don't think he has a legit shot at being QB1. I think Devin Brown and Will Howard are the top 2. I also think Devin Brown will be the backup if he doesn't win the #1 job to Will Howard. Howard has a lot of experience and Devin Brown has years in Ryan Day's system.

Unless Howard and Brown just can't throw the ball to Day and Chip Kelly's liking, I just don't see how Sayin get the nod to start over those two. I think both get their chances in games to prove themselves before they ever go to Sayin. Sayin still looks like he needs development and he probably needs to build his arm strength.

Both Howard and Brown are going to have their run game that they can turn to. Also if the o-line can't pass protect and you got to move to a running QB, that would be Air Nolan.

Basically I think a lot will have to go wrong for Sayin to be QB1. I don't think he wins out the job and I don't think you would want to throw him to the wolves unless he has you absolutely have to.
