2024 NBA Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Max Strus …4 years, $63 million vs Donte DiVencenzo The Big Ragu….4 years, $50 million .
To tell you the truth, I choose Strus 11/10 times if I had to choose one at that point in time. Dvo was underwhelming, this is by far his best success and there will be a team coming up that'll exploit him.

Strus disappeared last season in the playoffs too with 9 ppg on 30% 3 pt shooting , too. Time will tell on both accounts

Knicks are such a crazy roster. There is just so much force multiplication. Each of their core (with the possible exception of OG) are playing so far above their prior career levels.

You have Brunson as a low tier second option become All NBA level. Hart as a borderline starter become a do-it-all 2 way menace. Hartenstein and Ragu as low tier rotation players become good starters.

It's like all of the careers we're playing in standard definition and then they went to the Knicks and they are suddenly playing in 4k.

Amazing for them and incredible player development and coaching.

How Brunson has elevated his game after 4 years in Dallas is incredible...

Strus has a 32% career playoff three point shooting percentage. He’s not a particularly good playoff guy and never has been. The contract felt like wishful thinking by Koby to me. I think people like the idea of Max Strus but the reality is kind of meh.

I was annoyed by Noah, but I always respected those Bulls teams with Jimmy. I respect the Knicks teams the same way. I’m no notable athlete, but seeing a team just elevate and play so damn hard is inspiring. Makes you wonder if we need a bit of a culture change.

A little radical candor to counteract our current ruinous empathy…

I always hear the Cavs care for each other and I have read Divincenzo and Hart now tolerate one another, but absolutely hated one another. Something about the creative tension that group has where none of those guys were anointed. They’ll be fun to follow for the next few years.

Pacers sending like 75 grievances if non -calls to the league. And how the Knicks get major favoritism so far. Calls out league to say "small markets should get a chance too".

That "trend" really was started by the first 'big three (plus) - Garnett and Allen going to Boston to join Pierce.

I do think the way LBJ did it in 2010 (phantom elbow injury and all), and the fact that he did it again in 2014 and 2018, make him sort of the bitch king of team switching, so I kind of agree that there's no room to talk when it comes to Durant.

LBJ didn't join superteams in 2014 and 2018, much less the outstanding Finals team that beat him in the playoffs. He may be the king of team switching but he's certainly not the "bitch" king of anything.

"at that point in time" -- the job of front offices is to predict which players will be better in the future, and Dvo is definitely better than Strus now.

He joined the Cavs in 2014 that had All-Star, budding perceived superstar in Irving, and on the condition that they also acquire 2nd Team All-NBA (yes, that's correct) Kevin Love. That's a superteam.

In 2018, he left the Cavs who had no other player at even an all-star level, and joined the Lakers on the condition they mortgage their future to acquire superstar level talent, which they did as soon as he was available.

He also has a habit of making whiny power-plays, complete with on-court sulking, if ownership doesn't make particular player moves he believes are necessary. Which is kind of being a bitch.

I personally believe he is nevertheless the GOAT in terms of on-court performance/talent. But he's pulled some bitch moves in his career, especially if we define that to include running only to elite teams.

Or how about DVo wasn't choosing Cleveland regardless because his longtime friends weren't apart of the roster to recruit him?

Maybe he turned more dollars down elsewhere to join up with NY. Nobody knows for certain. He's playing the most minutes he's ever played, also the most successful he's ever been, most likely all due to familiarity with Brunson, Hart and great coaching.

I'm sure he was circled, hell, we're lucky to have Strus choose us. Free agency is tough, there's suitors competing so you identify your guy and court him. Personally I wanted Strus and Oubre, really wanted Oubre because our 6'7 wings lack like fuck. But Koby is his own idiot. Better to be left with Strus than nobody at all because courting DVo would be a dangerous game when he ultimately chooses his boys and we come a close 2nd and left with plan C or D all while B already chose his destination too.
