I heard a couple times that active rosters are expanding to 14 or 15 players instead of 12, and they're changing the Injured List parameters (I think used to have to wait 5 games to come back after being on IL/IR). This is something that they supposedly changed during the player/owner talks earlier.

Does anyone have a link to such changes? I've googled it to death, "active roster", "05-06", "NBA", "15" and still can't find anything. Or maybe I'm just being clueless and there's a 3 page thread on it somewhere here. :dunno:

This would really affect things like, "Can we get our Tractor back?" and signing a 3rd PG.

Thanks in advance- Kypus

* Each team is required to carry 12 players on its active list and one player on its inactive list (which will replace the injured list). Teams may have a maximum of three players on their inactive list (subject to hardship rules, which will apply in the event that a team with three injured players on its inactive list has a fourth player that suffers an injury). Players sent to the NBA Development League (see below) will continue to count on a team’s inactive list.

* The league has agreed to guarantee that, on a league-wide basis, teams will maintain an average roster size of 14 players over the course of the season.

Thanks Ben, you rock!

I am not really crazy about having 14 guys travelling with teams. By now you all know I believe in the effectiveness of the 8-Man rotation, especially in playoffs. That leaves an average of 6 guys per team standing around twiddling their thumbs during games. I just see it as high potential for malcontents like McInnis to stand around and chirp if they're not getting PT, if you know what I mean. Just seems like it will be harder to keep team focus. As if guys like Wagner ever had any focus during games in the first place. As for us, we don't know what kind of an atmosphere Mike Brown is going to run.

That part is good, Marty will be down in NDL. Hopefully one of the serviceable summer PGs too, and maybe the Azibuke. Who knows, maybe it'll mean only 11 guys travelling with the team. Thoughts?
