You know the ads on the left, I was clickin em (I think that helps right?), they should open up in a new tab if possible. I'd just click an ad then close the tab, but that's just me.

On the forum index, ads on the left under forum stats and all that. You click em and the page loads up lebron2010.com or whatever. That should open up in a new tab I feel. I don't know

It does for me?

rep whore failure

I don't possibly get why a thread like this would get rep.

When you click the ads they open in a new tab? Dammit. They open in the same page for me.

It's not a big deal at all, I can easily open in a new tab, I just thought it would make more sense and people would click more if it was a new tab.

I guess it's just me then. Carry on.

I'll rep him because he's correct.

Here is the actual code for one of those ads:

Code:
<a href="http://www.lebron2010.com"><img src="http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l31/glen_hotcards/lebron2010-1.jpg"/></a>

That code means the site will be opened "in the same" window. In order for the ads to open up in a new window/tab, the code must add in a bit like this:

Code:
<a href="http://www.lebron2010.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l31/glen_hotcards/lebron2010-1.jpg"/></a>

target="_blank"

Anyone who clicks and gets a new window as it is must have their browser set to only open links in a new window.

I appreciate the sentiment but don't click ads just to be clicking them. We don't get paid by clicks and its against advertising policy.

On a side note Lebron2010.com, Ilovethehype.com and numbersdont.com are RCF properties anyways.

Hi Ben, I don't click ads just because, but do you have that in your guidelines or something as well? I know some ad money distributors "do" pay on clicks, so maybe it's a good idea that the members should know to NOT click on ads just to click. :)

I don't see the need to add that to our rules section at this time.
