More than half of baseball fans are rooting against Barry Bonds as he tries to break Hank Aaron's major league home run record of 755, according to an ESPN/ABC News poll.

The survey found that 52 percent of fans hope Bonds doesn't break the record, while 37 percent of fans want him to surpass Aaron's mark, set in 1974.

In addition, 73 percent of fans think Bonds used steroids, despite Bonds' repeated denials. Bonds has never tested positive for steroids.

There seems to be about one of these a week now..white people don't like "said player" as much as black people do.

Who cares? Bonds is a cheater..nuff said...why isn't there a poll about how blacks feel about Steve Nash winning the MVP? I'm sure that'd be skewed..

It's just an ignorant topic to bring up..how races view different players..asking for trouble.

I thought everyone regardless of race hated Bonds. This is such a dumb argument, he is breaking another African-Americans record, so its not like the stupid "good ole boys" are mad about him breaking a white guys record. I dont care who he is if you cheat, you arent going to be liked.

CDT and James you got this one right on. I just turned it off after about 5 minutes because it was just so plainly ignorant I couldn't stand it.

He's breaking Hank Aaron's record. Hank Aaron is black. Barry Bonds is black. Nice try ESPN. Way to put a good spin on "There's no more racial prejudice in sports" in anymore. That's hard to do when ESPN always has segments on the players and fans coming together and taking a step forward. Then they show something like this, and we take a step back.

Seriously, this poll is retarded, what ever percentage they came up with, is flawed, if you went to a baseball game in every stadium and had the REAL baseball fans who know the game, know the history and everything, odds are 9/10 of them DONT want Bonds to break it. Im almost 100% sure on that ratio. The guy has been a dick all his years in the MLB, and although he has an amazing carrer (yes he has) it will always be tainted by these 2 things:
A. He is one of the biggest assholes in major league sports
B. Its a known fact he is a cheater
