Ruben Droughns and Plaxico Burress in a package?

I am mainly looking for a upgrade from Ruben, but I also want a capable starting WR in return as well..

I would also be willing to part with DeShaun Foster, Chester Taylor, Nate Burleson and Trent Green.

Some packages I was considering:

Legend Killers: Carnell Williams & Javon Walker for Ruben Droughns, Plaxico Burress and Foster/Tayor

Bomber: Deion Branch/TJ Houshmanzadeh, Donald Driver (combo of these 3) and LaMont Jordan for Ruben Droughns & Plaxico Burress

The Herbal Army: Brian Westbrook, Reggie Brown and Andre Johnson for Plaxico Burress & Ruben Droughns

^(Trent Green may be included in the deal some way for it to work)^

WeWillMossU: Willie Parker & Larry Fitzgerald for Plaxico Burress, Ruben Droughns, and Burleson/Foster/Taylor

Columbus Nature Boys: Marvin Harrison & Warrick Dunn for Ruben Droughns, Plaxico Burress and Nate Burleson

F-Dubb Young Gunz: Steven Jackson & Reggie Wayne for Plaxico Burress, Ruben Droughns and Taylor/Foster/Burleson

Some may think that I am trying to low ball you, but I just want to get a feel for what you would like in return for your players..

For the team owners.. Try to get back to me, ASAP.

Ive tried offering trades to people, nobody answers. Ive had deals on the table for weeks.

Cadillac > Droughns

Walker > Burress

So after 2.3 seconds of deliberation I have to decline..

True about Droughns and Cadillac..

But the Walker > Burress isn't so much of a > as you think..

Yes Javon Walker is in a new system where he will have a lot of the pressure taken off of him, but don't expect HUGE numbers from him..

#1). Denver is a run first offense... The run the ball, run it again and run it some more.. They will pass but they won't pass a lot.. Just take a look at Ashely Lelie.. The guy had pretty good potential, but didn't get to release it with Rod Smith and the running game getting the majority of touches..

#2). Jake has never been a good playoff performer.. Whenever he would be up against the big test in the playofs.. He flunked.. Just look at his numbers, he had a a drop of 18 in his passer rating and had only 2 TD's, while 3 interceptions..

#3). Plaxico has players to take pressure off of him... You know that the CB's will be keyed on Javon Walker.. But who else do they have to take pressure off him? Rod Smith? Mike Bell? ... Look at the Giants they have guys like Plaxico, Shockey, Amani and Tiki.. All of them will get their touches, but the defenses will be so worried about Shockey, Barber etc.. That they won't neccessarily pay A LOT of attention to Plaxico..

#4). Plaxico is a tremendous red-zone threat 6'5 230 with good leaping ability and good hands.. Javon does have good size at 6'3, but doesn't have the strength that Plaxico does..

Just a little fact.. When Plaxico has caught 65+ catches in the three seasons that he has, he had atleast 1,000 yards and 7 TD's..

I agree that Javon is a good player, but there isn't such a big difference as you think..

Anyway.. What if I included DeShaun Foster, Chester Taylor, or Nate Burleson?

ALWAYS counter offer. I'm sure there is someone on Mac's roster you'd be willing to give him up for. The worst that can happen is Mac declines.

Mac, you just have to work the phones. Sometimes literally. If I really want to work a trade I'll call someone up and see if we can't work something out. If it's with people you don't know personally you can always IM. You can often accomplish much in a few minutes this way.

I've found one of the biggest things fantasy owners do wrong (or at least poor fantasy owners) is they don't haggle. If someone offers me a fair deal I'll haggle to try and skew the trade in my favor. If someone offers me a deal skewed in thier favor I will at least counter with something that helps me. The worst they can do is say no. When I make an ititial trade proposal I ALWAYS offer less than what I'm willing to give up. It's amazing to me how many times other owners have accepted my initial offer.

A former boss of mine, a guy who was President of the company, is in my league. You would think this guy would understand how to make a deal, how this works. I've raped him several times in trades through the years, simply b/c he accepted my first offer. He could of haggled and gotten a better deal, but didn't. It's amazing to me.

Course, this is the same guy who I offered Larry Fitgerald to in exchange for draft picks. "I have no interest in Larry. However, I'll give you some draft picks for Crumpler."   After pulling myself off the floor and getting back into my chair: "OK, sounds good. If you have no interest in a top 30 overall player, and want to give me draft picks so that you can keep a TE that would of still been available in the 3rd or 4th round of the draft, ok."

Oh, and I just realized this illustrates my point of the importance of working the phones. B/c I was pestering him about moving Larry, it came out that he had interest in Crumpler. I wouldn't of even thought any one had interest in keeping Crumpler if we hadn't been discussing what it would take to pull off some kind of deal. I would of lost Crumpler (who was on my team last year) for nothing, but instead I got a draft picks.

I still havnt been offered any trades. Probably because my team is already too elite.

Keenen for Stallworth is trash?

Despite two seasons ago, when he was injured, Stallworth has NEVER had a better season than Keenen.

That trade was actually a loss for me, player to player. I was ranging on potential and hoping that he might have a good year even though he is only a #2 WR at best.

Look at the stats, for sheer value, you lost out. Without injury, Keenen is going to get you some good points. I was reaching in hopes for potential because im more solid at the WR spot and can take that risk, where as you need help at the WR spot.
