Cavaliers @ Mavericks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, I don't know about an injured Lebron taking those last shots there. I mean, of course he wants to take them, but he was obviously hurting, I think he mighta steamrolled a camera or something there at the end. Again, they only played with urgency when they were down big with time running out. There were TONS of missed opportunities here, free throws, layups (Sasha, Wesley, Snow, Marshall all missed close ones) and then the open treys.

I am impressed that we stayed close in this one, but that was due to a defensive surge at the end and some nice execution on offense, where was that before 6 minutes left in the game?

Some good points: Shannon Brown had a "breakout" game of sorts. He showed he could play D and hit some shots, but also showed that he just doesnt have that chemistry with these guys. Thats understandable because hes never really gotten to play with this unit. Who knows if he gets to in practice. Please give him Wesley's minutes and some of Larry's.

Also, Dirk was tearing up everyone, AV and Gooden were no match. Only at the end of the game with Lebron playing defense on him was Dirk slowed down. I think Lebron is a good matchup for him, he probably can't drive on him so it'll force Dirk to take some jumpers, which is really all you can do.

I'll add this...Gibson was open in that last sequence. Lebron - especially if he was banged up - should have dished the ball out to him.

Agreed that it seems ridiculous to blame Lebron for this, though. Bad production from just about everyone else. And really, as good as Dallas has been, we made a game of it. Lebron did what I thought he had to do and no one came along.

Larry Hughes take note: you're not needed here. He and Gooden are gone by the end of this summer.

It was pretty ugly at times and the same old offensive problems were there but nice, gritty effort by the Cavs.
Poor FT shooting hurt once again. Go 10-14 (which should be reasonably expected) instead of 7-14 and it's a tie game.

I always hate to get on officiating but it was bad tonight and did have a big effect on the Cavs. There was a lot of contact by Dallas that went uncalled. How the hell can DeSagana freakin' Diop get at least 3 calls from the refs? The charge/block call was called differently for each team too.

Huge game from LeBron who kept them in the game.

Nice to see Shannon Brown look like he belonged and not have that lost look out there. Hope it can continue. After watching Wesley suck it up once again and both he and Snow unable to convert layups, Shannon should be ahead of Wesley in the rotation.

Don't agree with the decision to have Snow on the floor over Gibson in that last 5 minutes. The perimeter shooting or at the least the threat of it needed to be out there, especially with the way the Mavs were defending LeBron.

Bad games from Z and Gooden. Z is understandable and no one should get on him at this time. Gooden needs to pick it up. At least to keep his trade value at a decent level.

If we didn't have 36 year old end of the bench players playing rotation minutes we would have won this game. It was a good effort tonight and I'm sorta proud of how they played but its obvious the talent on our roster right now isn't ready to take our team to the next level because its being held down by people that should have retired years ago. I am encouraged by a future team of Lebron,Varejao,Sasha,Gibson and ?.

Yes Boobie was open and maybe Sasha and
Marshall were too. But this is where Lebron gets put down for not taking the big shot. I think his shot was a good try. If he passed to an open teamate, that would have been fine also. But he was not doubled and he is usually expected to shoot in that situation.

Not sure who is going to want Hughes and that contract.

If Isiah is still a GM in this league there's always hope my friend. Don't underestimate his stupidity.

Why don't some of you just put on Marv Albert's women's underwear?

Griping about LeBron? How about Z's heroic performance or Wesley's amazing layup?

I know. Z has gone through a tragedy. And LeBron being bouced like a ping pong ball means nothing. Get balanced or just shut up. Without LeBron it's a 25 point blowout. I didn't hear you folks saying dick during the Wizard's series.

I'm just tired of the blame game. Put a sock in it.

Why should he? Z gets outscored byDuncan and David Robinson 18-0......Oh I mean Dampier and Diop

I am a Z defender, appreciate his game and understand he just went through a tragedy.....but 0 pts? Made those Dallas centers look like Wilt and Russell. With Hughs out, Sasha in foul trouble, Gooden in a funk and Wesley needing oxygen just a little bit would have helped the King last night.

He makes good points but it is clearly obvious he gets off on bashing the Cavs and James. No mention of Hughes being out, and if losing by 3 on the road to the best team in the NBA means we aren't ready for "the prime-time", then who in the NBA is?

Mooheads right on with this one. I love it how everyone was positive we were gonna get killed. It's not being a homer, it's having some faith in a good basketball team, which we are. Of course I don't think many people really believed we were going to win this one (I know I didn't).

If we have Hughes Wesley and Brown don't play as much, meaning we have a much more solid and open offense. If we make those stupid lay-ups and shoot average from the FT line we win this game. I'm going to say this again, David Wesley is useless. I'd rather have DJ in there than him, since we'd have a 3 point option. It's the lesser of two evils.

Look at what just happened. On the road against the best team in the NBA without Larry Hughes and we came withing one shot.

After another defensive stop, James was fouled driving to the basket by Nowitzki. James got up slowly, holding his lower back, and missed both free throws with 10 seconds left.

"I tweaked my back a little when I fell into the fans,:uhh:" James said. "I wasn't able to get as much lift as I wanted from the free-throw line. I rushed them. Hopefully [my back] won't hurt [Friday] because I had back problems before and my back has been pretty good this year."

I'm shocked that he actually had some good things to say about the team in the "What's right with the Cavs" section. But he's still a moron.
