I suspect many on this forum are native Clevelanders who have moved to other cities across the United States. I love this forum because it connects me back to the team, the city, and the working class people and mindset of Cleveland. But as this playoff run approaches, I would love to share the glorious moments we are about to experience with other Cavs fans, and REALcavsfans are nowhere to be found in big cities.

We need to establish Cavaliers Bars across the country. As an Ohio State graduate I love going to Ohio State Bars on Saturdays during the fall, and The Browns Backers do a great job at organizing gameday viewing places across the U.S. I know its tough to have viewing meetup for basketball games because their are 82 games as opposed to 16 or 12, but for the playoffs it could be feasible.

I currently live in Orange County/LA, do we have any local Cavs bars in this area? Would be great to have a "Cavs Bar List" for the playoff run for 2009 and beyond for major metropolitan areas across the U.S. Just an idea.

edit: mods please move this if this isn't the right place. thanks.

Same question for Toronto, Ontario. I would like to see other people cheer for the team I love. Other than you guys, I don't know a single person that likes the Cavs.

Few places:
1. The Clevelander and Panini's- Right off East 9th and sit next to each other. Very close to The Q. Winking Lizard is right across the street for there as well.
2. Thirsty Parrot - Although usually reserved for a Tribe game, it should be packed for the Cavs playoff games as well.
3. Any bar on East 4th - I loath Caddy Ranch, but plenty of people love it. Bar Room is ok. Wonder Bar is nice but pricey.

I would stick to The Clevelander and Panini's. You can always venture to West 6th or West 9th, but it's pretty far from the Q (10 minute walk)

Same question, except about Chicago. If there's a Browns Backers organization, why isn't there one for the Cavs?

I would bet Buffalo Wild Wings down in Lincoln Park has Cavs fans for the game. Its been a while since I've lived down there....so some of the names of places escape me. There are a handful of Ohio State bars - I'm sure Cav fans will be there. Cubby Bear is a Browns backer bar....not sure if there will be Cav fans there, as it may coincide with a Cubs game.

So no 'cavs' bars in OC/LA? or anywhere else for that matter outside cleveland?

I'm with you-trying to get something started in L.A.

For game 1 vs. Orlando a cavs group and I are going to Sports Harbour in Marina Del Rey.

I'll keep you posted what we do for game 2 and so on. Hopefully we'll establish something for Cavs fans to go to. Also something with not too many Lakers fans.

You won't find "Cleveland" fan base bars in any other city other then "Cleveland."

I'm in Costa Mesa. If anyone is in OC I know a friend and I would be up for meeting somewhere. Marina Del Rey is a bit of a haul for me since I work in Lake Forest.

That's just not true, maybe you've heard that the Cleveland economy is hurting and some people have left. There are displaced Clevelanders all over the country and groups that get together to watch games.

I got all excited when you guys said "L.A. area" but then I realized that since I'm in Calabasas, I'm still like a 2 hour drive away from Marina Del Rey. :chuckles:

Calling ALL CAVS FANS that live in the L.A. area.
If you are a member of facebook-please search for the new group- L.A. Cavs Fans
A group is growing (last game had about 20 people)-and this group will direct which bar Cavs fans can meet at!
See you there! Go CAVS

I'm over in Costa Mesa as well. But I head back to LA often because most of my friends are up there. We should try to get something in the OC started as well.
