Cavs Defense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
the promise that i have for these guys runs deep..

i remember when chauncey billups and lindsey hunter were not that good defensively (especially billups, that is why pitino traded him to toronto in his rookie year)

in terms of LeBRON, i remember when kobe was only a chucker and didn't play both ends..lebron is a much more polished player then kobe was, and if he commits himself ? there is nothing he can't do on the court (on both ends)

Speaking of Diop, has anyone shown interest in him ? Or is he out on the back porch eating oreo's at this point??

:chuckles: Awesome. Im gonna use that with my buddies...

Snow - hes getting on the old side but he can shut down opposing guards, as we've seen several times last year

Hughes - All defense team. I'm not that convinced of his one-on-one being extraordinary, but hes definately a force in the passing lanes

LeBron - Also a force in the lanes, him and Hughes are going to be fast break machines. One-on-one the guy gets exposed, but he'll improve. Also he gots size

Gooden - Gets the occasional block and hustle play, I think he has the attitude, but rotations are lacking - a lot. Can Mike Brown fix that? We'll see

Z - When this guy is not in foul trouble, he holds his own against opposing centers. Shaq, Yao, or whoever one on one in the post, and Z holds his own. His weakness is what to do against driving point guards that have just blown by jeff McInnis when out of position. Z also struggles against matchups that force him to play high or can shoot. And I think the guy is an underrate shot blocker and hustle player, even with the feet

Bench: Ira is solid. Jackson I think has the hustle and stuff to be a good defender. AV has the right attitude but picks up lots of stupid fouls. Sasha can defend alright, but he has the same problem as AV, he did matchup against Kobe pretty well on national TV. Its too bad Traylor is gone though

Mike Brown has a lot to do. I think if he turns out to be a good teacher and installs a system that Drew can understand, then the D will be much better. Chances are, the D will be much better anyhow, just because last year wasn't exactly intimidating or anything.
