I don't know how Dials will do in the league. He's undersized for a center. I guess he's kind of a poor man's Elton Brand. If he can make the adjustment to playing forward, he could be ok.

I think the best future NBA player on the current team is Butler. He's a lock down defender, great ball handler, can penetrate, and can shoot the deep ball. He's got the total package. He also plays the position of greatest Cavs need; however, the Cavs will (hopefully) address that need before Butler leaves OSU. He's got at least one more year in Columbus, and hopefully two!

What do you guys think of Foster's chances in the league? He's one of the top shooters in the country. That alone should at least get him some looks. He also led the conference in steals.

I like Foster a lot, but I'm not sure about him translating to the NBA. He's undersized for a shooting guard and doesn't have all the skills that a PG needs. Butler, on the other hand, as you said above, certainly does have skills that will translate to the NBA. Foster is a very streaky shooter - he'd have games where he'd go 6-7 from threeland and others where he'd go 1-9. Both are very good defenders but I think Jamar is a better defender mainly because he is only a Soph and is gonna get better. Jekel was very good at playing the lanes and was also a very good man-up defender. Jamar always seemed able to frustrate whatever opponent he was playing and I never really saw an opposing PG have too big of a game against us. He sure shut down Dee Brown when Illinois came into town and that was huge.

And you said it best with Dials. If he can learn to play the power forward position he could have some success in the league. That might require him getting a little bit quicker, but I certainly think he could do it. I hope some NBA team gives him a chance - I wouldn't consider using a 2nd rounder on a guy who was the big 10 player of the year and averaged 15 points and 8 boards a wasted pick at all.

Jamar is all ready a better defender than Foster. He's been given the task of guarding the opponant's top guard basically every game, and has been fantastic at it.

Concerning Foster, agreed he's undersized, but look at Langdon. As painful as it is to remember this draft pick, he was taken strictly b/c of his ability to can the deep ball. He had no quicks, which translated to disaster guarding perimeter players in the league. Shooting threes is a valued skill in the NBA. Foster can hit the three AND has defensive quicks. He certainly won't be a star, but I think he might find a spot on some one's roster as a roleplayer.
