We all know that the Cavs should have made the playoffs last year, but they didn't OH WELL. Thats behind us. From the looks of the moves Danny Ferry has made in this off-season (whether we get Sarunas or not) we SHOULD be a lock for the playoffs. Now that I've said that, how far do you all think the Cavs can go? And how long before we can win a championship? I think the Cavs will make it out the first round if we get our chemistry in place early and our key players stay healthy. I also feel they can be a championship contender in 3-4 years if the front offfice keeps having productive off-seasons like the one we've had so far. NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK. :king:

If we do get a solid point guard which seemingly will happen we are at first a playoff lock. How this team gels and the health of the squad will determine if they progress further. We will have the talent level of a top 4 team, but as you know talent only goes so far.

finals apperance within 3 seasons is reasonable..

we have to make the playoffs first..

we just have to wait and see how they do gel.. i remember when the pistons went into the second round with the cliff robinson ben wallace and stackhouse team..

then they bring in billups and hamilton and didn't miss a beat (a whole new backcourt could do that) so the gel thing is not that much of a concern for me (they shoud be okay by january).. considering the nucleus will be back.

the best thing about the playoffs is "anything can happen" the suns went from 29 wins to the conference finals..

the sonics get in the second round and play well against the spurs..

with a player like lebron, anything can happen-once you knock down that damn steel door...

Im thinking the eastern conferance finals... why not

I'm thinking 2nd Round, but anything can happen. That's why we love this game, it's so unpredicatable.

Did anyone expect the Pistons to be the Lakers in the 2004 Finals? Nope. They expected the Lakers to sweep the Pistons.

Point- Anything can happen!

If we add a decent PG and stay healthy I'd say getting to the 2nd round would be reasonable.
I think many of the players on the roster need some playoff experience. I can't see them getting all the way to the EC finals so quickly. Although things look much beter now after this summer's additions, things are still being built and more time is needed to become a true championship contender.

after getting a PG and a backup BIG MAN--------the only thing they are missing is experience...

We'll make the playoffs next year, unless something goes horribly wrong and or some key player(s) get injured for an extended period of time. Now with that said, I think we are good enough to get into the 2nd round, and depending on what PG we do go out and get, and how well the team gels and performs together, we may have a chance to get to the Eastern conference finals... but I don't know, that may be pushing it a little. As for contenders the finals, 2-3 years of good personel moves and we should be there. LeBron winning a title right in the prime of his career. But first things first, make the playoffs next year!

I think we should be good enough to get into the second round. I wouldnt be surprised at all if we lost in the first round though. I think we will get the 5th seed in the east as a very early prediction. If we do get the 5th seed, we probably end up facing the Pistons or Pacers in the first round. We're not experienced enough yet to bet either team in a series imo. But its probably way to early for me to speculate on this.

Just add a starting pg that can shoot and some bulk a toughness in the frontcourt and we should be set to make the playoffs.

This year? I think this year is for the team to learn to play together. We've got a new coach, hence a new system, we've got 3 most probably 4 new guys coming in who've played in different systems so its gonna take some time to gel. Probably the 2nd round and conference finals but next year, if they can bring the team back whole and if Martinas will be ready to play, then we should be the team to watch out for.

You realize Lebron is just 20, right? He won't be hitting his prime for another 6/7 years! Which is just scary, considering how good he is now!

Here's hoping Lebron plays 15 more years in Cleveland!

It's going to depend on if we can actually win road games this year. Last season we couldn't even bribe the other team for a win. Most of the time, it is the teams that play well on the road that makes it deep into the playoffs. Cleveland was probably one of the worst road teams last year and I don't expect a huge improvement this year. We will improve on the road no doubt, I just don't think we will be a road team like the Suns or the Spurs. That being said, 1st round tops. Anything beyond that is luck.

I believe it depends on how well the Pistons gel under Flip, and what the coaching situation is in Miami. If we face either of these two teams early in the playoffs it could be scary, just due to their experience.

However, if we face a team like Indiana, where our new headcoach knows all the behind the scenes action, I think we could own them up.

I believe we can make it as far as the players want to.. and I know that sounds a bit cornball-ish. But, it's not up to us fans to decide-- it's up to the players and how well they play each day and respond to their coach.
