Iowa @ OSU Game Thread

There is nobody better available, really the only reason not to. Tressel coaches these games like he's in the Middle Ages. It works vs these Big Ten teams, but not against anybody out of conference.
Rose Bowl gives him another chance to redeem himself.

Thats pretty much the only reason why you'd ever fire somebody, is that someone could do it better. Very few do it better than Tressel.

You really have no issue whatsoever with the playcalling? Really? I mean be honest. Tresselball won't win us the Rose Bowl and you can quote me. I'm glad it wins us Big Ten titles obviously, but still....

I just hope he mixes it up in Pasadena. Unleash Pryor!!!

We've had this discussion before. Playcalling is overrated. Execution and fundamentals are more important. We have bad guys at OL and QB coach, and those are the things that need to be addressed.

Also, in no way is Pryor 100%. He's maybe 80%. At least he stayed away from INTs this game. Thankfully we were able to run it 51 times.

The running game was working today so I see why Tressel did it...although we barely won this game and might have won it handily had he opened it up more.

We'll see what happens in Pasadena. It might not be pretty no matter who we end up facing. I disagree about playcalling but oh well.

Iowa plays exclusively cover 2, and their safeties are ball hawks. They weren't going to let us complete a ball more than 7 yards downfield. But playing cover 2 means 7 guys in the box, so we ran it well.

I can't see how forcing it downfield would've helped much.

Forcing it? Why not even trying once? I might have missed it, but I'm pretty sure we never thew anything over 20 yards.

Like you said, we ran and it worked. Great. Not sure Tresselball will beat the PAC-10 squad we're going to be facing.

Iowa leads the Nation in INTs.. Pryor usually airs it out a lot in games, and by airs it out I mean literally flies it into the sky. It was a conservative approach, but Tressell didn't want their defense to end up beating us with a big play.

I just hope we can win the Rose Bowl.. It's great making these things but I'd enjoy winning one.

Tressel brought the Buckeyes a national championship, as far as I'm concerned, that job is his until he's done with it. I was attending Ohio State at the time, and it's the only Championship any of my teams have ever won.

Pryor's finger got a cut and he has many things wrong with his legs/feet. I don't think Tress wanted to risk passing when the run game was working so well as well. Iowa got some lucky breaks or this would have been a blow out aka the kick return and pick 6 that got called back oh and the 3rd and 16 they picked up when the ball went off 2 buckeyes.... It was a great game tho and showed Ohio State could win a close game.
