I was flipping through the channels tonight and I saw this thing on ABC from 8-9 called "Keeping LeBron". Looked pretty silly if you ask me. I just watched it for a few minutes and changed the channel. Did anybody watch the whole thing and was it any good? Did it have any news information or was it just us fans trying to keep James to stay?

Not any good. I saw about 10 minutes of it and they were interviewing the gm of the indians and some pastors... just silliness.

yeah that's what I thought it was. Just a bunch of sillyness.

I saw some bits of it. They actually showed "Grannies for LeBron" which was some old women dancing and asking LeBron to stay...pretty bad. It was interesting how they said teams and cities want LeBron for their local economy as much as his basketball skill though. I don't know the whole truth behind it but they said 8 local sports bars would probably close up if he left here.

It was pretty bad. Very little basketball talk or anything from any NBA insiders. Really a show for casual and non fans.

Windhorst was on briefly and answered 2 questions. They spent more time with Mark Shapiro, Bernie Kosar and local clergy.

If you could sift through some of the filler BS there were some decent interviews ...

David Lee Morgan ... "I would imagine right now Lebron knows his decision ... Lebron has feelings and is a loyal guy ... Lebron understands what Akron and Cleveland fans feel about him". 3 factors - unfinished business - his family - loyalty will keep him a Cavalier.

David Gilbert (Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and creator of morethanaplayer.org) ... Words that Lebron have talked about over time Mission/Committment/Loyalty/Team that mean a lot to him, but frankly mean alot to our community. (On why have local sales pitch) Northeast Ohio would be conspicous by our absense by not having something other than what the Cavs would do to keep him in Cleveland (in reference to Bloomberg, Chicago pleas)

Windy ... "I think he's going to stay knowing how much Akron means to him, knowing how much success this franchise has had with him ... it will be surprising to me if he left. I do think he is going to avail himself to all of his opportunities as he probably should. But I do think after making Cleveland sweat he is going to stay home because he hasn't finished the business he wants to finish here." "No matter what happens fans should realize that the Cavs org gave him everything they could - as have the fans. Fans should believe in their hometown because LbJ believes in Akron and will make this his home for the rest of this life. Lebron believes in this area and has been here his whole life, like many people from here who have been here their whole life, so he relates to peope that have been here for their whole life. I can understand why everyone is nervous and if he does leave, it will be a pretty tough blow to swallow but I don't think anybody from the Cavs organization, to the fans, to the people attending rallies or signing petitons - all of those people have done everything they can given the situation, thus they should take some solace in that".

Romeo Travis ... "personally if I was to guess I would say he would stay here, but I mean that can go either way ... If I was to bet I would keep my money in my pocket"

Willie McGeee ... "I'm from Chicago originally and I am huge Bulls fan ... so I wouldn't mind seeing him in Black and Red"

Bernie Kosar ... "There is a bond that being from here is unique. He being a home grown talent ... it won't be the same if he leaves so I don't think he will want to jeopardize that. Being from here he is going to want to take on that challenge (on bringing Cleveland the allusive champioship) because I think his greatness, athleticism and his character is going to want that challenge, want that responsibility - I think he is going to relish that kind of pressure."

Buzz Bissinger ... "I'm not sure Lebron knows what he is going to do. I don't think he has handled the situation very well. I don't know why he wouldn't talk to Tom Izzo, I just don't really understand that. I thought that was really inexcusable from his camp and was a slap in the face to the fans. He has player there for 7 years, he has done a tremendous amount for Cleveland area and for Akron. He has the right to go wherever he wants. This is a complete guess, but my guess would be that he is not going to stay in Cleveland - my guess would be Chicago. They have the best chance of winning. I think he really wants to win and has to win. If he doesn't win he will go down as the most disappointing, great athlete ever ... he needs a ring, maybe more than 1 ring. In Chicago he will be in the shadow of Jordan and if he doesn't win it will make that shadow bigger and bigger. The one thing Cleveland has going in its favor - he loves Akron and by extension, Cleveland. He is very, very comfortable there. He is secure there and because of the way he was brought up w/o a father, and the tamult, security is very important to him and is in your favor. But the Cavaliers have to come up with a team that can win."

Mark ShapIro ... "You don't want to be in a situation where one player is held out and separated above the others. It is not positive in a team sport. I think in this case, though, it is no ones direct doing, it is because of the greatness of the athlete and his abilities, talent, age and special personality. You have to find a way to build a championship team regardless of any one player being on the team or not. There are very few instances of guys in my sport where guys can single handedly change the dynamics of one team, but it is easier to happen in basketball compared to baseball. When it happens you have to build around that player and what you do strategically stems off of that player. When you lose that player through retirement, trade or FA you have to reinvent how you do things, but it doesn't mean you can't win."

I just thought so, glad I didnt watch the whole thing too.

Thanks for the recap of the good stuff. I saw the Bisinger, Kosar, and Shapiro interviews and liked seeing that others you posted.
