I am looking for a simple savings/checking... Maybe online banking. Been looking at Wamu and there 5% interest is looking very nice. Any word or any one use them? Or any other online banking... Trying to get the best interest I can.

I use US Bank, they have free online banking and they got a store in almost all the Giant Eagles so they have a branch open til 8 at night. Never had a problem with them.

I would recommend US Bank too. They have great customer service. When I moved a while back I had to switch cable companies... I forgot to send my DVR back to the cable company on time and they had my debit card on file. They billed me like $800 without telling me and my checking account went negative. My wife had just made some online payments for three other bills and they hadn't hit our account yet. So when those hit the next business day we were assessed a bunch of $30 overdraft charges since the account was negative. We called US Bank and they reversed all the charges for us and were very nice about it.

WaMu has horrible customer service. It may just be their mortgage department, but those people are bonafide fools.

ING Direct has pretty good rates from what i've read. I don't think it's checking though, just online savings.

I've heard US bank was a great bank from people that i know who deal with money for a living. I use National City and have not had any problems with them and they were very helpful when my identity got stolen.

Dingo, It was me, my bad...

:chuckles: Well i vowed that if i ever found the person/people involved i was going to behead them good thing you are joking.

ING introduced paperless checkings a few months back. I would highly recommend it.

Well thats my whole problem where my current bank Charterone pretty much screwed me. I had a good adsense bank wire to my checking account so I figure I had money in the account. So I spent barly any like $20 or so bucks but somehow they hit me with a $70 overdraft fee. I called, went to the bank and everything. They claim to tell me that even though I see the statement when I check my online bank for my checking account doesn't mean it's all there. Never heard of such a thing. Just pisses me off since I have been using them since I've been little.

US Bank.. There is one by me.. Hmm I think I can give them a look.

My interest was ATMs and National City has a ton. No matter where you go there is always going to be a NC ATM close by and i like that.

I also have free overdraft protection on my checking account too after that whole fiasco, courtesy of US Bank. They basically give you a credit limit and if you ever overdraft it is just taken from there. If you don't pay it back by a certain time they assess interest. But it is nice to have for those occasions when something like that happens and you unexpectedly get hit with a huge purchase on your debit card.

US bank loooks sweet but unfortunatly there isn't a bank nearby besides a good 25 minutes out of the way which I don't want.
