Oh well. I wasn't a Gooden-hater and I hope Mike Brown can improve his game. Gooden/AV is fine for now. No worries on my part.
 
Pickins are gettin mighty slim now, all that we really can go for is Donyell and Reggie Evans...i'll stick with Goods.
 
Well, at least we don't have to worry about NJ stealing a playoff spot from us again now that they have SARs. :chuckles:
 
I like Shareef and wouldn't have minded him with the Cavs but he wasn't the greatest fit as the Cavs next PF.
I don't think Swift was ever an option in Cleveland either. He doesn't seem at all to be the type of player that Ferry and Brown would have wanted. Swift is all style, no substance.

It's looking now as if Gooden and Varejao will still be the primary PF's next year. There's really nothing left in free agency that would be a big upgrade. Donyell Marshall would be the only one left and he's 32 and will take most of the Cavs remaining cap space to sign.
If Gooden did get traded it might be more likely that he'd go in a deal for another PF. I don't see any possible trade like that right now that would make a lot of sense.

Right now things will most likely end up with the Cavs signing a FA PG (Sarunas) and using their remaining cap space for depth at PF and C.
 
he will either sign for their mle or take similar to an mle and the blazers get a future 1st.
 
Nice titles tonight CDT (almost typed "titties" but caught myself :)). Oh well, two gone - I'm happy with what we got though, and this should focus us more on that PG/Shooter.
 
exactamundo unless we get reginald evans at a cheap price then sure maybe motivate goods into being more defensive.
 
Gooden can have what it takes defensively - he looked lost at times last year, but, if he is comfortable in a system (I'm not sure he was ever comfy under Silas), he could blossom into an average defender...
