So Rose has admited to betting on baseball finally a few years ago, now he is saying "i bet on them to win every night" when i was a manager. He has changed his story to the point where nobody believes much of what he says.

Does anyone else wish this guy would just shut the hell up and go away? Yes, he was on the best hitters ever to play, but you know what, you broke the rules and you have to deal with it, Shoeless Joe should be in before he is.

What are your thoughts on this?

What rules did he break that should preclude him from being in the Hall of Fame as a player?

Betting on Baseball...

My thoughts are that, although he shouldn't have been betting, it has nothing to do with him as a baseball player. But Barry Bonds/Mark Maguire.. and all the other players who have allegedly used illegal drugs, should not be in the hall of fame, nor should they be considered.

And no doubt, there are plenty other baseball players who should be inducted WAY before Pete Rose.

He is in the WWF Hall of Fame...Isn't that better?

He bet on baseball as a manager with the Reds not as a player and what he did as a player is why he should be in the hall.

I agree with Nicki and Ben.

Let him in already!

Who cares? Not me but I say just let him in. He made a dumb move but it's not like he took steriods like others.

If Pete Rose was black this would be a racist thing.

He had many times to come clean on it, and lied for a long time until he decided to write a book to cash in on his failures. Im pretty sure Bud will never let him in, and even if he says "ok" he wont get voted in by the media people.

Rose knew betting on baseball was illegal and still did it. I'm not gonna make excuses for players in the Steroids Era, but steroids weren't specifically banned in baseball until a few years ago. Betting on games (which falls into the same category as fixing games) is the cardinal rule that you can't break in sports. Keep him out of the Hall.
