Every week I will start a new thread about the position battle that will be going on in training camp.

This week I start with running backs.

We have William Green, Lee Suggs and Ruben Droughns.

Here are their stats, stat their case..

Suggs-

2004 199 744 3.7 39 2

Green-

2003 142 559 3.9 26 1
2004 163 585 3.6 46 2

The Depth Chart at the start of the season barring injuries will be..

1. Lee Suggs
2. Ruben Droughns
3. William Green
4. Adimnichobe Echemandu

With Terrel Smith at Fullback

i thought joe wasnt on the team.

this position is one that we can expect production from. on the other hand if they dont get a lot of yards than our offense will be terrible.

Joe got waived, he is on the Vikings roster now..

Ill state my case for William Green when I get some time to sit down and type.

William Green is a toe dipper, he gets the easy yards and if there is no hole opposed to trying to get through he goes horizontal and falls over. I liked him his 1st 2 years but all this drug problem and gf stuff he isn't worth my time anymore. Suggs is more powerful and a lot faster, also a better receiveing back as he disected the Bungles with some catches. Suggs has a clean slate and Green doesn't there is no debate...Green should be dealt for some D-Line since Kenard is a backer now.

Suggs is more powerfull??

Excuse me while I die laughing..

But like I said, when I get time to sit down and make a good post, Ill state my case.

well green has the power.. he just refuses to put his head down and nock sum1 on thier ass. he is scared or sumthing. Droughns is a prime example of denvers scheme and will prpbably flop in cleveland and suggs had fumbleing issues and will probably get 1000 years hopefully

Thanks for the input buba..

But we need more activity in this, Im not gonna be the only one putting some thought into this. Im the MOD for this forum and I love the Browns and Im trying to get this to be very active, so I need your help..

Im only gonna put time into it if other people will as well.

Suggs should be the choice. The final three weeks of last season, Robiskie rode him. In the final three weeks, Suggs went 21-105, 38-143, and 26-131, with only two fumbles in the three games, and if memory serves, one of those fumbles (against Miami) was a bad call by the officials.

He does have an injury history, but so does Fred Taylor, who is quite effective when healthy. The injury concern simply tells me that the Browns need insurance policies, which is what Green and Droughns are. Droughns did nothing before Denver, and may quite possibly do nothing here, however, he would be second on the depth chart until he proves that he was a product of the system.

William Green is an enigma. I read how he has re-dedicated himself, again. However, he hesitates before he hits the hole, runs too horizontal and doesn't seem to have his heart in the game as much. He may, physically, be a better power back, but given my choice, on 3rd and 1, I would still have Suggs and Smith in the backfield, because that is where my confidence lies right now. Maybe Green or Droughns could change my mind in the preseason, but right now, Suggs seems to be the obvious choice.
