So yeah, the Cavaliers had a game tonight.

Snow, Wesley, and Gooden all sat out tonight game.

Your starting lineup was....

G: Damon Jones
G: Larry Hughes
F: LeBron James
F: Anderson Varejao
C: Z

LeBron James had a solid game, as did pretty much all of the regulars and the rookie. Dwayne Jones also played in garbage time.

Varejao led all Cavs in scoring with 14. Sasha had a nice game with 9 points and 5 assists. Hughes had a "Washington Hughes" game of 13-3-3-1 on good shooting. Shannon played 23 minutes and scored 10 points including 2 threes. Gibson made 3 threes in route to 10 points.

The strong play of the Cavaliers starters – not to mention their dynamic rookie duo – made it a little easier to accept that the reserves squandered a 15-point third quarter lead. But that’s what exhibition season is all about, as the Wine and Gold dropped their second straight preseason home game, 93-89, to the Wizards on Saturday night at
The Q.

Damon Jones and Anderson Varejao were inserted into the starting lineup as Coach Mike Brown takes precautionary measures to rest his starters. Eric Snow, David Wesley and Drew Gooden didn’t dress. But the usual starters that did – LeBron James, Larry Hughes and Zydrunas Ilgauskas – looked to be in mid-season form, shooting a combined 16-for-32 from the floor and building up a comfortable lead over the squad that they ousted from the postseason six months ago.

"We’re fine," said Larry Hughes. "We know each other. We know how to talk to each other, so the first unit will be fine."

Varejao got the nod in place of Gooden, who got the night off to nurse a left quad strain, and took advantage of the opportunity by leading the Cavaliers with 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting. The Wild Thing also led the squad with seven boards, tied for tops with LeBron James.

I'll take the 50% shooting from Larry any day. May the calcium gods continue to bless.

Winless with Lebron...undefeated without.

Need I say more?:dunno:

Let's trade LeBron and cash for Steve Blake.

Only if we can send Varejao for Bobby Simmons with him..

Last night sounded great albeit a loss but still..Gibson with 3 treys   Slammin Shannon with 10 is nice...and we kept the better swingman of the two in Sasha over Luke.

Luke would have needed probably 60 minutes to amass 9 and 5...Larry shaking the rust and hopefully getting in the flow of things.

Gibson and Brown = 5 threes....perimeter shooting yessssss

Seems like both Brown and Gibson played well although it also appears both were out there when the Cavs were outscored in the 4th. Of course they weren't playing with any big time scorers during that time.
Both have been making a case to get minutes.

So far just about all of the Cavs key players have played well in preseason and the starters have done well when out there together.

I like what I'm reading about the Cavs offense and the changes that were made and that were badly needed. There appears to be an effort to use more motion and ball movement and players seem to be adjusting fairly well.

Any body notice how much better Pavs is wth Luke gone?

No more looking over his shoulder..I love how everyone was so eager to give Luke a shot when he never proved a thing. Pavs stepped in and started and we went 7-0 and he was averaging like 13 ppg and had like 17 or 19 one game.

He's been a better contributor overall..more athletic and younger.

Ehh, i wasn't able to actually watch this game, but looking at the stats everybody is looking healthy and looking good besides Drew Gooden, i hope he recovers soon.

I was always positive on Daniel Gibson, and he is definitly looking nice, but of course Shannon Brown is the man everyone is talking about, and he delivered as well did Gibson with 10 Pts each.

Varajao is just simply a beast right now, he is definitly improving.

It's only pre-season so I'm not concerned with the score. I like that Larry played solid and Shannon Brown sounds solid. Nothing but good news from these games collectively.
