I just had a couple questions I am confused about because I have never really sold tickets before.....

I already have season tickets, but I am planning on buying some seats for an 11 game package just to sell them and get playoff priority and then sell those tickets as well.....

So, my question is, which form of tickets is the best to get for selling them?

I know they came back with FlashSeats. I guess people can buy the tickets online with a credit card and then just take their card to the game and it prints the tickets....

Can you also sell games this way through StubHub and other sites, or only on FlashSeats? That seems like it would be the best way to go if you could sell them that way on other sites, because FlashSeats tickets usually sell cheaper.

Also, what would be the best place/website to sell tickets on? (Which is easiest and would make the most profit)

Thanks in advance for your the help.

I have never sold, but I have bought tickets many times. I have always like ticketsnow.com

I think there are more Clevelanders on there buying and selling than stubhub, or at least I find better deals on good seats on there...

Flashseats are IMO easier to work with in terms of transferring tickets over to a buyer. However, Stubhub is not equipped to handle Flashseats; they can handle only PDF tickets, or paper tickets shipped via Fedex, or using a designated "Last Minute" dropoff facility. If you were to use Flashseats, I would use their marketplace primarily, otherwise you could use Ebay.

This is my first year being a season ticket holder and I plan on selling my extra tickets on my own to try and maximize profits. I'm going to focus on friends, family, co-workers and neighbors first to eliminate shipping and commission costs. I'm not going to ridiculously over-charge, so I'm setting my prices a little lower than what they are going for on StubHub, FlashSeats, Craigslist, etc. I'm ultimately going this route b/c I know StubHub charges a commission fee that is taken out of the final sale price. With FlashSeats the commission charge gets passed on to the buyer. Either way you have to watch how you price your tickets on those sites b/c you could lose money on StubHub and outprice yourself on FlashSeats b/c of the commission.

StubHub's commission charge:
Listing tickets is free. When your tickets sell, we collect a commission equal to 15% of the total amount of the sale. We deduct the 15% commission automatically before we send your payment. Be sure to keep this in mind when deciding on the sale price of your tickets.

For example, if you list a pair of tickets at $50 each and someone purchases both tickets, for a total sale of $100, StubHub's commission will equal $15 and your payment will equal $85.

The 15% commission helps us maintain a safe, secure place for fans to buy and sell tickets. Our patent-pending FanNetwork™ system ensures a convenient, reliable service you can trust. When you sell tickets at StubHub, you get the following unique benefits:

An open marketplace to accommodate the greatest number of potential sellers, which, in turn, attracts more buyers.
No listing fees.
The ability to choose your ticket price and change it any time, twenty-four hours a day.
National marketing programs and team, artist, and media partnerships to help market your tickets and attract more buyers.
Privacy protection. We don't reveal your identity to buyers or prospects.
Toll-free customer service - seven days a week - to answer your questions.
Free delivery directly to the buyer, or free Last Minute Services.
Guaranteed payment when you fulfill your orders.

FlashSeats commission charge:
I will update this section with exact numbers once I get them. I can't find them on the FlashSeats site. I did find an article from 2007, when FlashSeats was last used, that said FlashSeats charges the buyer a 20% commission and nothing for the seller. So I would assume that is still the case, except the numbers could have changed.

Edit: I emailed FlashSeats and got the following response: The details of the seller's fee structure are still to be determined. If you are a season ticket holder, please contact your sales representative for more information. I contacted my sales rep and he told me the seller isn't charged anything. I suppose it could be based per venue since the FlashSeats service is used at numerous places.

Although I don't plan on using these alternative ticket marketplaces, I'm not ruling out the possibility of having to use them to sell the games I can't get rid of. I will more than likely go with FlashSeats if it comes down to it.

Hope this helps.
