I'm looking for advice on tablet recommendations. I already have a laptop but use it mainly as a desktop because of everything I have wired into it. I'm looking to spend between $100-$200 and its primary purpose would just be web browsing. Tips, please.

I really like my Kindle, I'm using it right now as I watch the Cavaliers. You end up buying more stuff through Amazon.com since they funnel you through the site for purchases, but I was doing that anyway.

Nexus 7 best android tablet in that price range.

I actually have a hisense 7 pro. Was like $130 at wallyworld. Internal storage is on the small side at 8gbs, but internally spec wise it's a first gen Nexus 7 that has expandable memory and hdmi

What Keys said. Kindle Fires are rock solid. User friendly, smooth functionality. Good price.

The nook HD is also a very solid tablet. Actually, outranked Kindle Fire at CNET.

Both tablets are very similar but the nook does have a better display and miniSD slot. It's also using Chrome as it's primary browser which is nice if you use Chrome on your laptop as I do. I think either tablet would suffice considering your needs. I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing you are so I've done my research. I'm dumping iPad2 for Chromebook + nook.

I'm actually getting my nook tomorrow in Boston and will let you know how I like it if you want.

EDIT TO ADD: my iPad2 is on eBay for $200 and is in excellent condition. Has a Browns Skin-it, Apple smart cover, and Targus leather-bound sleeve included in price. Anyway, just throwing it out there for ya because it's in your price range and an awesome deal.

iPad Air if you want iOS or EVGA Tegra Note 7 if you want Android. Don't get windows. Kindle Fire HD is best bang for your buck.
