With the Cavs looking like they might try to trade up, I thought it might be interesting to see all the teams that might be willing to trade their picks..

-Atlanta is reportedly looking to package the #19 pick along with Speedy Claxton’s contract, in order to clear additional cap room, likely to resign Mike Bibby. 80% of Claxton’s contract (5.2 million) will be picked up by an insurance company, making this a relatively cheap investment for a team with cap room looking to acquire another pick.

It's funny they mention that because I was actually thinking a Sasha for 19th + Claxton deal might work, should we want someone... Now we couldn't trade Sasha elsewhere but we could get someone who falls a la Marcus Williams (a few years back) if it happens..

Detroit has been rumored to be willing to give up Amir Johnson (1-year $3.6 million) and the #15 pick if they can get some cap relief... Again, Sasha straight up for that might work but I'm not sure the Pistons would want to deal with the Cavs like that, or the Cavs would want to give the Pistons more cap room as it is...

The Suns always seem willing to trade their picks, so you never know with them... They're #14 right now..

The T'Wolves have 3 picks in the first round, so I'm sure either one or both of the 18th and 28th pick are available for the right price...

The Hornets have been another team rumored to be willing to trade away #23 because of financial issues..

The Blazers might be willing to deal away #24 with the amount of young players they have, with them really not needing any more picks as it is...

What's nice is that it seems like picks 14-24 seem like they're pretty attainable if the Cavs want to jump up and grab someone they like (maybe Sam Young or Earl Clark)...

So it'll be something to watch for..

I just don't expect the Cavs to jump up too high...

I think you got to put the Wizards on that list too.

Here is their profile:
1) Currently projected to be over the luxury tax for a while if they don't make a trade
2) They are in "win now" mode so a rookie project doesn't help them
3) They are short of roster spots

But the flipside is that the Cavs won't try to grab a pick unless there is someone they really really want. Who's out there that the Cavs would want bad enough to trade up to get? I'm not really seeing that part of the equation.

well, the problem here is we have no earthly idea who the cavs might want or even who they're looking at. in fact, i don't think i've read or heard anything about players the cavs might covet in this draft. lotta speculation, not much actual reporting. sucks, actually...

Personally, I like Amir Johnson.

Utah, New Orleans, etc

we could if we wanted get 2-4 picks in the 14-29 range.
