I really want to give thanks to the existence of RCF.
I needed a "safe place" to talk the Cavs, since my usual standby had been infested by LeBronies who wanted to consistently troll Cleveland for all the "Decision" fallout. At the time, Kyrie was a year in the league. All the individual player threads, all the optimism, all the throwing things when Gilbert/Grant drafts and acquisitions went off the rails. All the heated debates.
These last few years have been frustrating and tense, but the last 2 have been very rewarding. I never thought the Cavs were going to remain "cursed" at the end of the 2015 Finals. So good to see this team turn it around and such epic fashion... even more, to share it with a bunch of people I doubt I'll ever meet but feel all the while familiar.
I can't see anything related to Omri Casspi without thinking "Assfingers" immediately (someone nearby was wearing a Casspi Cavs shirt the weekend they advanced to the Finals).
I'll never see JR without "PIPE" references.
I even bought one of those "Piss Jerseys" (as described here), put #5 and PIPE on the back.
Got to celebrate THE FIRST CLEVELAND CHAMPIONSHIP IN OVER 5 DECADES here.
There's nothing like Cleveland sports and Cleveland sports fandom. Forget what the mainstream media feeds you about Comic Sans and burning jerseys... the REAL Cleveland fans are right here on RCF.
