Decided to make a play for Hasselbeck. Here's the guy I'm trading with:

QB Drew Brees, NO
QB Matt Hasselbeck, SEA
QB Chris Simms, TB
RB Corey Dillon, NE
RB Willie Parker, PIT
RB Kevin Jones, DET
RB LenDale White(r), TEN
Def Jaguars, Team Defense, JAC
Def Giants, Team Defense, NYG
Def Titans, Team Defense, TEN

In case you don't remember, here's me:

QB Donovan McNabb, PHI
QB Jake Plummer, DEN
QB Brett Favre, GB
RB Shaun Alexander, SEA
RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD
RB Steven Jackson, STL
Def Steelers, Team Defense, PIT
Def Eagles, Team Defense, PHI
Def Bills, Team Defense, BUF

I give: S Jackson, Favre, Bills.
I get: Hasselbeck, Dillon, Jags

SJ's a hell of a player, but this trade makes me significantly better. Look at it like this: I'm giving up my #3 RB, my #3 QB, and my #3 Def. In return I get what would be my #1 QB, my #2 Def, and my #3 RB. Not too shabby. On the other side, he's giving up his #1 QB, #3 RB, and #1 Def, and getting back what would be his #2 QB, #1 RB, and #2 Def. That's not a clear upgrade. He does get a stud RB, and a player who could be his best keeper.

Thoughts?

Here's the sales pitch I gave him:
Here's the deal. You sacrafice a little at QB for a HUGE upgrade at RB. FFtoolbox lists Steven Jackson as the 6th best RB, meanwhile Dillon is 24th:

What's more, most think Dillon isn't even going to be starting after a few weeks, as the Pats are real high on Marooney. At this point Dillon's old and injury prone. This is your best chance to get any kind of value out of him. Trade him now while you still can!

On the other side, Hasselbeck is the #5 QB while Farve is still a respectable 14th:

Plus, I know you have a man crush on Farve and the Pack. How can you say no? lol. Oh, and you know that GB's defense sucks, so Farve is going to have to throw alot to try and keep up.

Then factor in the overall value of the two key pieces of this trade. SJ is listed as the SIXTH BEST PLAYER OVERALL!!!! Hassel checks in a paltry 45:

OK, so far this trade is WAAAAAY favoring you, so to help ease the pain on my end we swap Jax and Buf's defense. Honestly, Jax isn't that much better than Buf, who are looking pretty mean this year, plus they don't have to face the Colts twice a year. More than just the small upgrade I'm getting in Defense, if any upgrade at all, is just that I really like Jax, and could care less about Buf.

In summary, you get the SIXTH BEST PLAYER OVERALL in exchange for the 45th best. You're trading players ranked 5th and 24th at their position for players ranked 6th and 14th, and the 14th ranked player is one that gives you wood. To offset this robbery, you're getting a slight down grade on defense, and really after the top few and the bottom few defenses, there is very little difference in the rest in the middle, so the differnce here is likely negligible.

Why am I doing it? Well obviously to upgrade my starting QB, at the expense of depth. This is a trade that helps both teams, although you more than me. Let me know.

Thats a tough one... I think I would pull the trigger. You will probolly benifit this year and more than likely next. You will be able to keep SA, LT, and wither Hasselbeck or McNabb (depending who has the better year).

If at all possible, try to counter and get K. Jones instead of Dillion. I think Kevin has more "keeper" value than Corey.

I proposed the trade. I probably should of started with a lower bid by going after Jones instead of Dillon. I agree, Jones is better.

Next year my keepers would then be Nabb, Hassel, LT, SA. Two top 5 RBs and two top 5 QBs. Yeah, that's not too bad. :)

Hassel is 30, but QBs can play at a high level into their upper thirties.

If he rejects my initial offer, I'll prolly counter by offering Philly's DEF instead of Buf. If he still doesn't bite, I might go Plummer instead of Favre, but then offset the hit I'm taking giving up my #2 QB by asking for Jones instead of Dillon. Hopefully we can work something out. Hassel makes my team MEAN!

Dillon is done. Im glad u changed it.

Only way I would do is if I were to get Kevin Jones or Willie Parker..
