gooden with another solid showing

Drew up until this game has been a new Drew Gooden. But, we again see that he still has this childlike nature in him where if he doesn't start good, he goes into this ..so blatantly obvious mental shutdown funk. Where you just look at him on the bench and see that he has just completely shut down mentally and can't get himself back on track.

It's so pathetic ...I mean you see things of this nature alot coaching younger kids. He's one player that I'd have get into some sessions with a sports shrink and see if he can instill in this guy some tools to keep himslef ready and able to compete when things start rocky.

You gotta have some abiltiy to dig deep and find yourself and have the abiktiy to get yourself to compete. This kid just simply shuts completely down and just obviously sulks, almost seems like he wants to start to cry on the bench ....it's so obvious it's just sad ...

You can tell AC wants to just go over there and slap the weak piece of crap across the face and say ..GROW UP AND FIGHT !!! STOP ACTING LIKE A COMPLETE WUSS !!

W&G are you fishing for a rep? Don't you have enough? Alright I suppose I will cave and give ya a rep... in fact reps all around for a GREAT COMEBACK VICTORY! :chuckles:

LOL !! actually should have a button to remove some reps, because I was the weak a$$ that decided to watch Santa Claus II with my 7 year old instead of subject myself to one of the greatest comebacks in Cavs history.

Yeah ...I would have done that if I truly knew they'd be coming back from 25 down ...lol.....

pull five reps from my total ...you're alowed. As a moderator I give you all the power to pull some of my reps ...lol.

Re: Celtics @ Cavaliers

I just have to say my game preview was pretty epic..

Re: Celtics @ Cavaliers

Glad I didn't turn it off. I thought they were going to sleep walk through another one but the Celtics finally started to play like the 1-4 Celtics they were coming in.

Another poor performance by Zydrunas and when we were down by 20 I thought getting the ball to Z in the post would have gotten us some easy points but Z is just off this year.

Lineup with Larry at PG, Sasha at SG, and LeBron at SF and any combination of Donyell, AV, or Gooden seems to be a good lineup. Even Jones hit a couple of important shots.

Bottom line, no Snow and no Z lineups have been the most effective this year thus far.

Re: Celtics @ Cavaliers

Hopefully this is a wake up call for the Cavs to not continue to play down to the level of their opponents and to think they only have to show up to get a win.

Great comeback which obscures some horrible play for 3 quarters.

LeBron carried the team in the 2nd half but I don't like having to play him 44 minutes in an early season game against the Celtics.

Interior defense was bad for the 1st 3 qtrs. Not a great nightt for Z or Marshall and a Gooden relapse tonight. Hopefully Drew puts it behind him.
Hughes was also bad until coming up with some big plays in the 4th.

Sasha was great tonight. I didn't see one mistake he made. Solid play from him in every area. Brown needs to keep him in the rotation no matter what. Maybe we're finally seeing a possible breakout performance. The raw talent has always been there with Sasha.

Exciting comeback although that last shot from Pierce was too close for comfort.

Insane comeback. I was busy doing stuff but listened in the background. Its cool they never gave up. It just sucks they put themselves in that position to begin with.

What a great game. I hate seeing this team let the lead get over 20, but 4th quarter comebacks are always fun to watch.

Lebron showed a lot of heart tonight. Great game from him. It's good to see him hitting those free throws efficiently. Larry's FG% seems to drop every game. He hit some big shots and made some good plays tonight though.

Sasha finally looks like he's comfortable on the floor. We look much more athletic with him out there and his jumpshot is a good weapon for our offense. Hopefully he can keep the strong play up.

Disappointing night from Drew. He didn't do much of anything tonight. I've always been a Z supporter and I know he's known for getting off to slow starts, but I'm starting to lose confidence in him. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, but I wouldn't be too upset if we traded him for someone more mobile. I don't like the idea of having Drew being our only big who can score in the paint though. He's shown flashes of being a great scorer but I'm not sold on him yet.

Right on. I see all 3 of your key points came true but you wisely left off Z's name when you said "attack the middle".

Z made my pregame comments look like an 8th grader's, ughhh :dunno:

Yeah, I see this being a venom-fest with Paul Pierce as usual. We should be able to beat them though, until Telfair went out they had been using FOUR PGs in their rotation. Heck, we've been rotating 3 PFs plus a 7'3 center They should NOT be able to deal with our size advantage.

No matter who starts at C, (Ratliff got his 1st start lastnight) we should be able to contain them. Kendrick Perkins is raw offensively, and a crappy FT shooter, so we should let Z and Gooden work on him early to get him in foul trouble. Ratliff has no offensive skill, plus he hasn't had any time to work into their system.

  :( :dunno: :chuckles: I really thought Z's window would be 1 more season after this, *then* he'd start losing it. I didn't see the game, but he is sounding so pathetic.

Never turned the game off once. I have this habit of vocally fleshing out ALL possible worst-case scenarios on each and every possession once we start to lose.

I was dead on for the first three quarters and watched every play. I kept saying...get it down to 10 going into the 4th. We couldnt do that but even though I kept saying otherwise...I knew we could pull that shit out. We'd already done it several times in the past.

And then in the fourth I kept telling CBBI, "I foresee a Paul Pierce back-breaker... I dont know what it is but I can just see it coming." I started saying that once we really started coming back.

And as soon as that final Pierce shot went into the air...for some reason I knew it wasnt going in. I really believe in this team.
