Whats Going on with Ben Gordon?

Not to sure if anyone has information on his current situation, but I'm pretty sure that he is a free agent. I haven't heard any rumblings from any teams even saying that they are interested in him lately (not sure if teams can talk about interest in players yet ). I know that there is not way that we can outright sign him because last year I think he made over 6 million so I'm sure he is looking for more than the MLE. But is there any way that we could work a sign and trade for him? After seeing him this playoffs I think he could have really helped hit some clutch shots when Delonte and Mo were throwing up bricks. It would be interesting to see him as our starting SG with Delonte off the bench. I know he doesn't give us the size and defense we are looking for in a swingman, but he would be an addition of a dynamic and clutch scorer.

I could be completely off what we are looking for, however I have become a Ben Gordon fan after this playoff season.

edit: I forgot the Pistons liked him, other than that I haven't heard anything..

That's the most recent one, I've seen at least two or three others in the past couple weeks relating to Gordon.

He would be a bad fit for us with all our small guards. It is interesting to think of the shooting we would have with a small lineup of West, Mo, Ben, Bron on the floor at one. That would be hard to defend. He is like a more aggressive boobie that has a better off the dribble shot. I dont think he is a good lebron complement though with his 'tude.

I'm still not so sure Gordon is a sure thing in Detroit. Seems like an odd fit to pay big money for a guy who will come off the bench or displace with Rip or Stuckey, no?

Unless Dumars sends Rip Hamilton out of town....and he might.
