Bills: Whitner tabbed Rookie of the Month
The News
Donte Whitner was named NFL Rookie of the Month on Thursday. The Bills starting safety had 17 tackles and one interception in the season's first three games. "It's a good honor, but I just want to continue to play well and win more games," Whitner told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
Our View
This is a nice honor for a guy most experts thought was a reach when the Bills grabbed him with the No. 8 overall pick in last offseason's draft. Whitner held out in a contract dispute early in camp, but established himself as the starter before week one and has obviously done a good job in the Bills secondary. Whitner remains a solid option for IDP fantasy footballers.

Good to see he's doing well. Anyone know how Mangold is playing? I know he's starting, but that's it.

Probably pretty good Chad Pennington is doing awesome right now. I attribute it to D'Brick and Nick.

I love this quote:

"When I don't know an assignment on a certain play, I just run full speed and hit someone."

That wasn't the "exact" verbatim, but it's close to what he said in an ESPN article, that I read...

Yeah, but their running game blows.
