It's in Windy's best interest to not call out Lebron for doing what he did -- QUIT. I have noticed for a while that Windy will choose extremely euphemistic words to soften the perception of what Lebron actually did. Windy walks this line with Lebron of being critical, but not too critical.

The media will shield players in certain instances so as no to ruin their relationships with them. Sometimes they will shield players when they think it is the right thing to do, i.e. the Delonte/Deloria rumor.

I like Bill Livingston for calling it like it is, in the case of the Boston-series-debacle. And recently he called out Windy, without using his name for issues along the line of Lebron quitting or not quitting.

Like Bill said -- "I know quitting time when I see it."

I agree with your indignation; that was a piece of shit article, that attempts to rewrite history.

What a whore...

Didn't this fat turd openly question how the whole thing went down last year with LeBron's elbow "injury"...and his Game 5 "performance" or lack thereof....

Now that he is an ESPN "yes-man" he is re-writing history and reporting the elbow "injury" as fact.

If you have an "injury" and the best doctors in the world can't find anything wrong with it while looking at it almost around the clock...then you aren't "injured"....you are FAKING.

But beyond that...I think I actually HATE "Windy" more than LeBron anymore...

What a complete FRAUD this blob is...

A complete opportunist who rode LeBron's coattails to a cushy job at the 4-letter...the dude has zero integrity....what a joke.

As is the case with LeBron..."Windy" will ultimately regret the decisions he has made...

If you're going to let anyone get in your head, you're going to let....... a reporter get in your head?

Wow, you people are hypersensitive as hell.

Windhorst is simply reporting LeBron's opinion of people questioning his effort last year as "corny." In no way, shape, or form does Windhorst offer his OWN opinion and say how he agrees or disagrees with LeBron. Not one. It's a reporter doing his freaking job.

You guys really need to get a life.

I still follow Windhorst on Twitter, and he is quite the LeBron/Heat apologist. Like others have said though, what do you expect?

I don't even bother with Windy anymore.. We all know his deal. His entire career has been about gravy training off LBJ.

What do you expect? There is an old saying that says don't bite the hand that feeds. LeBron is the hand and Windy doesn't want to bite it. So what if he is a bitch now? We don't have to read his stuff. The beaty of LeBron leaving is that we shouldn't have to hear his name, and you guys really ruin that.

You guys?? You've got a thread full of people ripping on on one guy who appears to be hypersensitive. What the hell's the matter with you?

Huh?

1) The injury was eventually diagnosed by Cleveland Clinic's top sports doctors as a bone bruise and an elbow strain

2) LeBron was held out at the end of the season because of the injury.

3) Ferry admitted the injury was legit about a month after the season was over

Why would Windhorst report it's not real? Because some folks on message boards who like to play doctor who haven't seen the elbow or even MRI/X-rays of it say otherwise?

1.) Take a guess at what a doctor's diagnosis would be if they really didn't find anything of substance and a guy says it hurts. A strain is a common diagnosis when nothing is found but the patient says there's pain.
2.) The injury really didn't show up on the court until the left handed FT, leading into the Boston series. Curious at best.
3.) What else would Ferry say at that point? He had to try to sign him.

You keep trying to bring this up, when everyone here understands he quit because they watched him every night of professional (and high school career). Everyone saw it and every gets it. It's a moot point now.

1) If they can't find anything wrong, I'd expect them to say they couldn't find anything wrong - which is what was announced previously. If they saw symptoms and reactions that were consistent with a strain (which is a minor tear) and a bone bruise then I'd expect them to say that. Since we don't know what they saw, or didn't see ... it's just BS to second guess them.

2) James was just 5 for 12 and 8 for 14 from the line in the close-out game .vs. the Bulls. I'd say that was rather lackluster given what he'd done in the previous 3 games. And guess what? There was only a single day off before that game. As LJ4MVP used to point out, the days between games correlated quite well with LeBron's performance, and up until that point there were always 2+ days off between games.

3) Ferry didn't have to talk about it, but fact is LeBron was held out for the final 4 games of the season and even at the time they reported the fact it was due to injury problems that wouldn't hold him out of the playoffs, but they thought needed time to heal.

You keep trying to bring this up, when everyone here understands he quit because they watched him every night of professional (and high school career). Everyone saw it and every gets it.

At the time most fans on this board didn't know what they saw because they didn't recognize it. It made no sense. Everyone hopped on the quit-bandwagon after W&G made his post claiming that's what happened. Windhorst's problem is that nobody can prove this, so he's not going to make you happy and state it as a fact in an article. Heck, without actual proof the claim is technically libelous.

But what fans like you seem to have a problem with is that James may have been coping with numerous problems. I guess it's just tidier to blame it all on one thing? That never made any sense to me. I never thought any one thing could make James play like the way he did or quit in game #5.

It's a moot point now.

I don't think it's going to be moot for a long long time.
