MIAMI -- Quentin Richardson was traded for the fourth time since the end of last season, moving from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Miami Heat on Thursday night in exchange for center Mark Blount.
Richardson, who can play both shooting guard and small forward, is a close friend and workout partner of Heat star Dwyane Wade, the reigning NBA scoring champion.
Richardson averaged 10.2 points last season for New York Knicks. He was first traded to Memphis, then to the Los Angeles Clippers, then Minnesota and now to Miami.
Blount only appeared in 20 games for the Heat last season, averaging 4.0 points. He missed much of the season tending to personal and family matters in Haiti following the death of a close relative.
