Sorry for the stupid title,

For the past week or so the color scheme in my xbox is messed up when I try to start the console. I will start the console and it load everything in all black, then I'll restart and it will load everything with a heavy tint (either blue/purple/green), then on the 3rd try it will load fine.

has anyone seen this before or know if this is a sign of worse things to come?

I remember one time everything was blue and red and purple tinted. We took it into Best Buy and got a new one. Not sure if you have the same problem, but it sounds similar.

Might just be the cord. Do you bend it a lot?

I'd also have to say the chord, I can't really see it being the xbox itself.

This is what happened to mine before it totally went black and stayed that way.

The colour on my Xbox is fine, but my freinds colour went out for a little while, he decided to hit it upside its (metaphorical) head. It was fine after that lol. But I wouldn't recommend that to you, I would take it to future shop/best buy/walmart/wherever you bought it and see if it is covered under their warranty and if they will fix it for you for free. If they won't fix it for free then ask them what would be wrong with it and see if it is something as simple as a cord which would be relatively cheap, but if not than you will have to get whatever the issue is fixed. unless of course you just let it ride.

damn everyone makes me think it's just a cord then you hit me with this.

I don't think a warranty will be covered still, the xbox is maybe 5 years old.

Mine was out of warranty too...The first time i called i got some moron who didn't want to help and said they won't fix it. I called a couple hours later and got some cool ass dude who told me to send it in and they'll fix it..no charge

Honestly i don't even think you have to call them....I would just print out the shipping sticker and ship it to em and you'll prolly get it back fixed

But you could try the cord thing...That was the first thing they brought up in my situation, But it wasn't the problem at all

You are about the get red ringed pretty soon. Same happened to me for sometime and then....boom, outta here.
