Xbox Live question

Hey guys, I have a modded 360 and I'm having Live questions. I don't think it's been banned from Live yet because I'm able to get on but I keep getting disconnected 5 minutes after I get connected. I have my 360 hooked up to my laptop running Windows 7. If I get a wirelessa adapter would that make much of a difference? I can get one for 40 bucks off Craigslist. Do you think that would solve my issues?

Have a modded box too, with a wireless adapter haven't been kicked off. I would get an adapter that has two antennas, it gave me an extra bar over my old single antenna adapter.
