What  No Bucks in the finals ? What gives ?

I'm sure they can run the table if Jiri plays up to his former All Star form.

Allright TJ heres how i see it, im only doin playoff teams....

EAST

1 Miami
2 Indiana
3 New Jersey
4 Detroit
5 Cleveland
6 Philadelphia
7 Milwaukee
8 Washington

2nd round

Miami vs Cleveland
Indiana vs Philadelphia

ECF
Miami vs Indiana

East Champ
Miami

HPD's East Outlook:
I think Miami will be better than Indiana, mainly because Shaq is on a mission, and he will dominate this year. He will not be disappointed again. This is the only team i think the Cavs cant beat in the playoffs in the East. Shaq will make sure the chemistry is there with the new players. And dont forget the mighty Duane Wade. I think the Cavs can make the ECF if they dont face Miami before then. If Milwaukee gets the 6 seed, i think they could beat NJ. And i think Philly will do well this year, with Webber gellin with the team, Iggy, Korver, and Dalembert, and the heart of AI.

I will preview the West later...

Ok I'll bite. No explanations No excuses, just calling it the way I see it.

Western Conference (By playoff seed)

1.San Antonio (looking good again)
2.Denver (Tough Laker Losses, but I am still with this one)
3.Houston (Looking good so far)
4.Dallas (Doing better since Diop is playing less)
5. Sacramento (Coming back a little)
6.Phoenix (Better than I expected, Where did Diaw come from!)
7.Memphis (Disappointing start, winning by Defense I like this team)
8.Minnesota (About right)

9.LA Clippers (Still playing pretty well. But I expect fade at the end of the year)
10.LA Lakers (Phil Factor is counting, much better than I thought)
11.Golden State (Baron Davis makes every body on this team look good I ranked them too low)
12.Portland (It is what it is)
13.Seattle (Same as Portland)
14.Utah (Biggest surprise in the west. 10 bucks boozer doesn't get the start when he is healthy!)
15.Oklahoma City (Nice start, but just outgunned)

Playoffs rd 2
San Antonio vs Dallas
Denver vs Houston

WC Finals
San Antonio vs Denver

Finals------>San Antonio

Eastern Conference (By playoff seed)

1.Miami (Looking like the real deal Burbling along sans shaq)
2.Cleveland (Not coming together. Started out with tough defense but this has faded in the last few games. Eric Snow is not producing at all)
3.Milwaukee (I called this one)
4.Detroit (Playing Detroit Ball with better offense)
5.Indiana (Good but still suspect)
6.Boston (Better than I expected)
7.Chicago (If they discover defense they will be tough, but I doubt it will happen)
8.New Jersey (Over hyped and out played)

9.Washington (Better in the first outing, but not challenged really)
10New York. (Brown could coach a high school team to the playoffs, but not the Knicks. Who wants to bet Frye never sees the floor a la Darko!)
11.Philadelphia (AI is not enough, playing better than I thought)
12.Toronto (Villenuevo and Calderon are back to earth)
13.Charlotte (Tough vs Chicago, Felton may be best draft of the year)
14.Orlando (No Hill, no wins)
15.Atlanta (JJ playing like he was actually worth 70 million. Too bad nobody else is..)

WC Outlook (ripped directly from HPD):
Surprise, surprise. Minnesota: not enough good role players. LAL: one coach isn't enough to save you. Memphis: you lost your best young talent and brought in old, injury prone ones. LAC: fun but disappointing. Seattle: one coach put you over the top. Portland: Nope, not yet. NOK: Sorry, you're in rebuilding mode. Golden State looks ready to break out this season but they'll falter and may even miss the playoffs. Utah will be back to form, Deron being a stud, but will find out that they're not really that good compared to other WC teams. Phoenix will have a slow start, but will go on a tear following the return of Amare, securing a playoff spot. The southwest division will be a throwup, but SAS will garner the #1 seed posting their best record yet. Sacramento & Denver will surprise nobody by taking their respective divisions. Denver, no matter how good they are, will be exposed once again in the playoffs for their lack of outside shooting and will lose to the scorching Suns. Houston will get their revenge. Utah & Golden State stand no chance against these perennial playoff teams. Phoenix will edge Sacramento. Then it hits you. Houston in the Conference finals? Over the Spurs. I believe T-mac and Yao will have a great season capped by a phenomenal playoff run. They'll go on to defeat Phoenix as well, sending them to direct contention from the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Eastern Conference (By playoff seed)

Cleveland vs Houston

EC Outlook:
Philadelphia: Edged out in the last game, the duo of AI-Webber crumbled down the stretch. NYK: Larry Brown gleamed hope, but the plethora of chemistry problems incited a reaction. Orlando: All-star season by Howard, but not enough. Boston: Nobody's there to help Pierce. Atlanta: Lots of young talent, crappy coach, no bigs. Charlotte: So much promise, but not enough talent. Toronto: Poor Chris Bosh. Chicago will make its slow return proving naysayers wrong. Washington tries to prove it can do it without Hughes, but move down 3 seeds. Milwaukee and Cleveland both had their ups and downs, but mission successful in a tough Central Division. Detroit is stalwart, but Indiana is stronger and nab the Central crown. NJN takes the weak Atlantic division with 0 competition. And Miami, loaded with talent, takes the Southeast with ease. First round, no surprises so far.. Milwaukee makes it by an aging NJN team with no legit post scoring. Indiana flies through, Miami as well. But the Cavaliers over Detroit? Blasphemy? No! I believe this playoff series will be the beginning of chemistry issues for the Pistons and they'll fall to a matured Cavs team led by the King. Indiana easily over Milwaukee. What??? Cavaliers over Miami? No way! Yes way. Miami stomped Washington again, but they will soon realize what everyone was talking about when Antoine Walker and Jason Williams stepped onto the court with them. It's not the regular season, but the big time games that this issue will come up. And the Cavaliers edge the Pacers in a hard fought, emotional battle.

NBA Champions
Cleveland Cavaliers

Final touches: Hey, I predicted them to make the finals. Being a real cavs fan, I naturally will pick them for the championship.

League MVP ------> LeBron James // Absolutely deserving RU: Tim Duncan
DPOY-------------> Ron Artest // Comeback season RU: Ben Wallace
ROY--------------> Chris Paul // One star on crappy team RU: Andrew Bogut
COY--------------> Greg Popovich // Finally deserving RU: Mike Brown
Exec of Year------> Danny Ferry // Great Moves RU: Larry Harris
Leading Scorer----> Kobe Bryant // Why not? RU: Tracy McGrady
Allstar MVP-------> Lebron James // He wants it this year RU: Tracy McGrady
Comeback POY---> **This award does not exist** Sorry, Buckeroo.
MIP-------------> DeSagana Diop // Double up his stats RU: Darko Milicic
(This award usually goes to the guy that goes from no-name to decent contributor)

And the reign begins... Write it down. Fold it. Put it into an envelope. Seal it up. I called it first. Post #777. Looks like a sign of the 7 rings King James will don.

Heres my Western Conference.....

WEST

1 San Antonio
2 Denver
3 Sacramento
4 Houston
5 Dallas
6 Phoenix
7 Minnesota
8 Memphis

2nd Round

San Antonio vs Houston
Denver vs Phoenix

West Conf Finals
Houston vs Phoenix

FINALS

Houston vs Miami

CHAMPION

Miami Heat

HPD's West Outlook:
Obviously, SA is the team to beat in the NBA, and the favorite to win it again. I picked Houston just to spice it up, I think theyll be great this year and go deep in the playoffs. The Southwest and Central are the heavyweights of the league. I think Denver will do well also, is this the year Carmelo joins the level of James and Wade? Will he ever be that good? I think Phoenix is really gonna be hurting without Amare and Joe J. Hopefully Amare will be back soon enough for them to get a good seed. And i think this year KG will carry Minny back to the playoffs, he is ferocious and plays with tons of heart and passion.

But Shaq is on a misson, and DWade is a superstar. I think its their year.

Only have time for the East. Besides, San Antonio to win it all.

East
1. Miami
2. Indiana
3. New Jersey
4. Cleveland
5. Detroit
6. Milwaukee
7. Washington
8. Chicago

(Philly could sneak in there for #8) I think everyone is underestimating Washington. They might take a while to come together, not unlike the Cavs, but they should make the playoffs. The Central is so f-ing strong now, there's not much room left for crappy teams from the Atlantic to make it.

Playoffs Round 1
Miami beats Chicago
Indiana beats Washington
Milwaukee beats New Jersey
Cleveland beats Detroit

I'm going out on a limb with those last two, I realize, but I think injuries are going to plague NJ and Milwaukee looks to have a tougher interior. The Cavs have always matched up well with Detroit and could shock our Motor City pals. (I'm a Pistons fan 2nd.) I also think these would be the best two series.

Playoffs Second Round
Miami beats Cleveland
Indiana beats Milwaukee

Or flip these around if that's how 2nd round seeding works. Either way, the results are the same, though I think the Cavs have a better chance against Miami because of better D and 3 pt shooting. But if Shaq is geared up and healthy, we get the vital experience we need and go home.

Conference Finals: Miami beats Indiana
Finals: San Antonio beats Miami

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cavs in the Finals for one reason and one reason only: Lebron. If he steps up his game in the playoffs and learns what it took Jordan six years to learn - to trust his supporting cast - and hits big shots in close games, it's more than likely. This is different than saying there's a chance. There's a chance the Bucks could win it all. You know, perfect storm. But the Cavs are closer than a lot of people realize. And Bron Bron is what will separate them from teams like Detroit and Indiana and the much improved Bucks. Only Miami has that HUGE player who can turn an entire game around in the playoffs.
