Ilgauskas listed out for Toronto

By: Bob Finnan, RFinnan@News-Herald.com
02/20/2007

The Cavaliers have listed center Zydrunas Ilgauskas as "out" for Wednesday's game in Toronto.
Ilgauskas missed the final two games before the All-Star break for personal reasons, the first two games he's missed this season.
The 7-foot-3, 260-pounder is averaging 11.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks and is shooting 46.7 percent from the field in 51 games this season.
Anderson Varejao averaged 12 points and 14 rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field in starts against Utah and the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6-10, 240-pounder is averaging 6.9 points and 6.5 rebounds on the season and would be the likely replacement in the starting lineup against the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors (29-24).
More will be known about Ilgauskas' availability after practice this afternoon at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. It's Ilgauskas' call when he returns to the team. The Cavaliers (31-22) won't rush him back.
Rookie point guard Daniel "Boobie" Gibson is listed as day-to-day for the Raptors game with a sprained left big toe. He sat out the Lakers game last Thursday wearing a boot on his left foot.
Gibson should be available for the game. Veteran Eric Snow started against the Lakers and had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
In other news, the Cavaliers are exploring the possibility of signing future Hall of Fame forward Scottie Pippen. The 41-year-old last played during the 2004-05 season.

I am very interested in what Z has to say, hopefully the report we got is not true and the matter at hand for him is not as serious was reported.

What was reported?

Read the sticky about prayers going to Z.

Well, at least it's against the Raptors. Thanks for the update Mac.

The Raptors are a hot team though.

I think they closed out by winning 8 of ten or something along those lines and are really only two games behind us.

This is a pretty big game as far as the standings are concerned.

Raptors are a good ball club at home, and pretty good all together, as the Cavs have already lost to them in Toronto already. Would be a great win to start off the second half.

Heard on WTAM that Boobie is starting tonight.

Looks like Damon Jones may be out tonight (not that he'd play much anyway but maybe this is a good excuse for him not winning the 3-point contest):

The Cavaliers said guard Damon Jones has strep throat and didn't practice on Tuesday. He's listed as questionable against the Raptors.

Sets him up perfectly to get traded.

Actually, a recap of the Mick Boogie party that Lebron was the host of with Jay Z said there was a lot of people with the cold and flu going around so he most likely caught it there.
