7th Round [231]: Alex Hall

College: St. Augustine's
Experience: Senior
Measurables: 6'5, 238
SCOUTING REPORTS
ESPN
Pick Analysis: Hall played defensive end at the small-school level. He's tall, lean and still needs to add bulk to his frame and get a lot stronger. He projects best as a 3-4 outside linebacker and is at his best rushing the passer.NONE
NFL.com
Pick Analysis: A hybrid Defensive end/outside linebacker for the 3-4 system, Hall has decent speed and athleticism and provides more depth for a rebuilding defense in Cleveland.Positives: Tall, wiry frame with long arms -- a prototypical 3-4 outside rush linebacker. ... Very quick off the edge, both standing up and with his hand on the ground. ... Tracks down quarterbacks and running backs from behind with good closing speed. ... Secures tackles with those long arms. ... Fair change of direction skills and is able to keep containment even if fooled at first. ... Violent with his hands, causing linemen to lose their grip on him despite his lanky build.
Negatives: Does not have a great motor or elite speed. ... A drag-down tackler who does not bring his hips through the ballcarrier. ... A lack of bulk makes it difficult for him to fill a hole or hold his ground against offensive linemen. ... Dominant against small-school competition, where the majority of running backs and quarterbacks do not have elite athleticism and quickness. ... Will need to prove himself on special teams coverage units to make a roster.

Has a great deal of natural gifts, but is physically underdeveloped and from a position skill perspective is at least two years behind in terms of development. As a pass rusher, has long arms, good first step quickness, the stride length to get to the top of the rush and the closing speed to pressure the QB. Currrently lacks the body strength, plan of attack and practical experience to factor. Raiders type pick.MY TAKE
I have to admit I have never heard of this guy... Hopefully he can develop into something if anything...
I wouldn't expect him to contribute this year as he has a lot of developing to do...

Re: 7th Round [231]: Alex Hall
late 7th round pick is basically like an udfa, if savage liked him, not going to say anything about him being brought into camp. I would be shocked if he is on anything more than the practice squad roster, and maybe not even that with some of the udfa that savage was able to find.
