That drummer from the "Pull Me Under" song is a fucking natural. All of those kids have crazy talent though, great vid.

Drums are very hard to master. I had a friend tell me: "You don't pick the drums. The drums pick you."
It's sad to think of how schools want to cut funding to music programs. I couldn't do half of what these kids are doing.

That's a great quote. And I totally agree, same goes for Art and P.E. Kids need to have that creative and physical release. Hell, so do adults. Life can't just be all about work. And there are too many talented teachers out there who have lost their jobs over a lack of funding.

drums are an incredibly important part to the writing process.. they can make your songs or make them bland. I fucking cant stand drum solos though. how annoying. Just noise.

Best song IMO from its decade. Still blast it daily.

Pharrel is about to make a huge fucking comeback. Gonna have the two biggest songs on the radio this summer, calling it now. This Thicke song is fucking transcendent..

Drums make the song, in certain aspects. I feel that they are usually the soul of the song (depending) on the song.

Thicke's vocals are impressive. Not too much a fan of his, but he's a staple in the R&B community. He works with Pharrell, a lot. And Pharrell definitely has a signature style.

I was waiting for the pig to get destroyed, in that Deftones video..... and NOTHING!

Ill put it more like this: The melody is the most important part, by far. The drums are absolutely necessary to be done well for the song to be good or bad, and are most helpful to a songs live performance (especially with harder bands, if youre in the pit... breaking down to half time is the most amazing musical tool that there is, by far)

The thing with that video is I feel that there isn't a better example of a song mismatching the video. Sharks and shit. The videos theme should be black, not blue. It should be dark and aggressive, not fishy and aggressive.

I did not know that much about Thicke, but after looking at his wiki, hes a cool dude.. Hes literally Alan thicke's son. I didnt know ALan did as much as he did. But Robin got signed at 16 by bad boy, which is fucking amazing. Wrote for big artists and finally got his chance to be a performer; along with Bruno and the dude from One Republic, thats my favorite type of story. That "how does it feel, to know that I love you baby" is sex.

    That's "Lost Without You"

I have that song and his first single, when he went by the name "Thicke"; called " When I Get You Alone" -- which was a sample of Beethoven's Fifth. I remember when they debut it on 106th and park, and they hated it.

Also, will someone please explain to me how Twilight got a Radiohead song in their movie? Theyre the most anticommercial band with the most respect towards their craft and credibility.. It just seems so wrong

Radiohead songs have been used in other movies like DiCaprio's Romeo and Juliet and The Prestige. I think in most cases their music is featured during the credits. Also, I think Radiohead typically requests that their music is not featured on the movie soundtracks. So that could be their justification. However, I agree that it is weird seeing their album music in movies. The score that their guitarist did for There Will Be Blood was really good and made for that movie.

The thing with Deftones is they have always made absolutely TERRIBLE videos. They have made it clear that they hate making videos and always do it per their label forcing them to. The only thing that matters is the music (in my opinion).

The tours supporting Around the Fur were amazing shows. I saw them twice at The Odeon (what a great venue it was) in 97' and 98'. Funniest one, was when Limp Bizkit opened for them--really never understood that band, but to each his own. My favorite show was in June of 2000 for the tour to support White Pony at The Agora Theatre--amazing.

    R.I.P Chi

    Probably their only decent video:

"Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back."

Well Stone Temple Pilots found their new lead singer and it is Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. The combination is odd but I am very interested in seeing what these guys can do together. Here is a teaser for their new single.

Linkin Park is known to collaborate with different music styles. This doesn't really seem too far off, though. But his vocals difintely bring something different. I'm wondering if this is just a one album-type deal.
