The first Terminator movie. Yeah...29 years later after it came out..I've finally watched it. Not bad for an 80s movie.

I'll be going to see Iron Man 3 on Tuesday. Can't WAIT!

Terminator was good and still holds up, but Terminator 2 is easily one of the five best action movies of all time and holds up much, much better.

Am I the only one dying to know why Dave feels like he should have been in Anchorman 2?

Must be the Black Panther. He's part of the 60% it worked on.

Yep. That means you would have been in it alright.

Kinda like the 10 thousand plus people who showed up to be extras in the Avengers all got cast.

Apples and oranges, Avengers is a comic book based film that was hyped extensively and an underground group of fans that stayed connected on their own accord, Anchorman is a 10 year old comedy whose only form of advertising of the casting call was 1 facebook ad. No one I knew was aware of it. Im a camera friendly guy who is charming as shit. Are my chances 100%? Fack no, but theyd have been reasonably strong.

You serious? You serious right now Jack? You're saying T2 is better than T1? How? Why? Terminator 1 was an amazing action movie, with literally zero flaws, a protagonist that was awesome, a clearcut plot, and no really dislikable characters at all. The Terminator was an amazing antagonist. Once he became the good guy, it was like, uhh... I'm not saying T2 was bad, hell, it was great, but Terminator 1 is a much much better movie.

Many people make the same comparison regarding Alien and Aliens, however, to me those are different genres of movies entirely. Alien is a horror/thriller, Aliens is an action/mild-horror (gore) movie. So I've never given weight to that comparison, they are great in their own right. Whereas with Terminator and T2, they're both action movies and Terminator brings more action with more likable characters that I can relate to. Reese in Termintor was an ox, and he was up against an insurmountable foe in the Terminator, with the baggage that this squealing bitch Sarah Connor was (but that shit was real). In Terminator 2, we had the Terminator up against another Terminator who was better, but the massive difference wasn't there. Also the lack of wanton killing was annoying.

And what I mean by relatable is that every man could be Kyle Reese. He was just a badass guy, but he wasn't exceptional at any one thing. He's sent back in time, having endured hell in the future to save the mother of his general and the leader of humanity. So what does he do? He saves her, while running from the cops, fucks her, gets her pregnant, builds pipe bombs in a rundown motel out of shit from 7-11, and ultimately gets laced. Because the Terminator is a fucking Terminator. That shit is dope.

In T2, there is no relatable protagonist. You can't relate to the boy, even though I was roughly his age or slightly younger when the movie was released because he was such an emasculated waif. The character was too weak. Sarah Connor was the most relatable, but her belligerence and irrationality and obvious distance from her only child (the savior of humanity) was annoying. She treated her son like shit, and as a parent, I cannot relate to that. The Terminator is a robot - I can't relate to a fucking robot.

    Grandiose opinions of yourself.

Anchorman is a 10 year old comedy that is pretty universally loved. Not disputing that the Avengers was going to be huge, but you're kidding yourself here if you don't think Anchorman 2 is going to have a large turnout.

I honestly dont know.. I know that I couldnt be a bigger fan, and if I was a betting man, Id put big money on it doing well. But I didnt even know it wsa primarily being filmed in Atlanta until I took the time to research it myself, and I dont see lots of people doing this. Im a superfan and I live in the city and was waiting for a casting call.

Yes, grandiose opinions of myself, this is a good example.
