Re: The Lebron Safari 2014
I still don't get why you think people that don't want him back haven't "gotten over it". I eluded to the fact that the reason was because you were still young....you say you're 23? To the majority, that's relatively young. Not everyone has the mentality of "win at all cost". I would like my team leader to be a person that I want to cheer for.
My name is Flacidus Penildus , pork sword of a murdered vag, hot dog of a murdered bun, hider of the murdered salami, parker of the beef bus in the murdered tuna town, envelope of the murdered slot, rat down the murdered drain pipe, prober of the murdered membrane, Inserter of the flesh flounder in the ice bucket, taker of the old one eye to the murdered optometrist, and I will have my revenge in this life or the next!

Re: The Lebron Safari 2014
I've actually thought in detail about how long LeBron could possibly last in the league and when he would start declining, and I'll share what I've come up with.
First off, LeBron is possibly the most freakish physical specimen of all time. NO ONE has ever had his combination of size, speed, agility, endurance, hops, and strength. Not even Michael Jordan (although he did have LeBron on hops, but that's about it). But these things don't necessarily indicate a long-lasting career. The one thing that I think will make LeBron last for a long, long time is his body's unprecedented durability (resistance to injury) and healing/recovery ability. It's unreal how durable his body is. I've never seen anything like it. His genetics are just one-of-a-kind. Combined with his basketball IQ, I think he will at worst adapt and be just as good in his early to mid 30s as he is now if his athleticism starts to fall by that point kinda like Kobe is doing now, but he'll do it even better. At best, I think LeBron will be better in his early to mid 30s than he is now like Jordan. I think LeBron will have that same freakish stamina in his upper 30s and even into his 40s that Michael had. I think he can be that 20ppg+ player at 40 like Michael was. LeBron is just a once-in-a-generation player.

Re: The Lebron Safari 2014
I could see him hitting 20ppg in his late 30's, but unlike Jordan LeBron would have played 22 years when he is 40, which is obviously a ton of games, and minutes. If he were to play until he is 40 he wouldn't have anything to prove anymore. We've seen that he will position himself to win titles when he is a free agent, so let's just say 3 titles (1 Heat/1 Next team/1 team after that), he would be well over 40k points, possibly very close to Stockton's assist record, well over 10k rebounds, possibly the NBA's steal record. He could stick around just to prove he can hang with 20 year olds in his 40's I guess lol.

Re: The Lebron Safari 2014
I am not looking at LeBron to be our savior, I really am not. I wish that we could do it without him, but in reality I think that it could be next to impossible. Sorry, I'm just pessimistic, especially considering our future drafting positions. Every GM makes mistakes, even the vaunted Sam Presti has made some mistakes that hasn't exactly crippled the OKC franchise or their title run.
I think Chris Grant is a decent GM, but I'm not expecting him to be some flawless GM that has the magic formula.
Presti has two of the most elite players in the game. The Cavs only have one, and I'm not sure where the other part of our equation is going to come from.
He's gonna get his set of downs, so to speak and we'll see what his +/- is at the end of it all. We'll have to see how he judges talent, how he parlays our assets into pieces, and if he can use the cap to bring in effective players at a good value, who will positively impact our product on the court, and our legitness going forward as we build a hopeful title contender.
I'm just not sold on Chris Grant batting 1000. There will be little margin of error for him. We will always have the weakness of being an undesirable city, so we're going to have to pay a price for that somehow. It just gives us even less margin for error. Make enough bonehead moves like David Kahn, and you might as well just liquidate because your screwed, it's over.
LeBron makes the title much more likely, I don't like the guy at all, but it's strictly business, and my business is giving the city of Cleveland the best odds to win it all. I also think it would be highly entertaining hoops like we have never seen here before featuring two basketball prodigys. I could see trophy's coming from that formula....... two fuckin basketball prodigies...... even better than OKC's elite two.
Wouldn't even have to like the mother fucker. If he entertains you, that's good..... that's his job, is to put a ball through a hoop....
We wouldn't even need to be obsessive fans like we once were, getting involved in the guys personal life and shit. He's just another entertainer. Be entertained, and try'n ensure us Clevelanders the highest probability of bringing home a chip'Last edited by Frank Reynolds; 12-15-2012 at 01:25 AM.

Re: The Lebron Safari 2014
Frank Reynolds smokes way too much weed. "Our GM is prone to making mistakes, so LeBron is our only answer." No, he's not. Suck his dick more.

I think he'll be 31 with bad knees and a couple rings. But we won't know until he signs here and then he'll get fat and impregnate a whole hell of a lot of women.

How about a quick simile: Watching the Browns from '99-'12 is like waiting for someone to finish shitting when you've gotta go piss real bad. Now imagine waiting on a 12 year shit...
