    Just my opinion.
Why couldn't Barnes slide down to the 2 spot? Or LeBron at the 4, which he's run several times for the Heat due to their center problems.

Obviously your opinion, but, I just don't see it as a reason why the Cavs went with Waiters over Barnes.

This is silly. Chris Grant doesn't pick players in the draft because they're "friends with Kyrie or LeBron", he picks players because they'd best fit the team. There are numerous basketball reasons for picking Dion instead of Barnes for the Cavs.

In my opinion Chris Grant shouldn't be drafting people based on whether or not they are friends with Kyrie Irving. He should be drafting the guys he thinks project to be the best NBA players, and that is what he is doing.

I don't think there's any factual evidence to Grant drafting around the small forward position. For one, there's a very good chance we'll draft a small forward in this year's draft (perhaps Shabazz?). Further, LeBron can just as easily play power forward, or any other position for that matter. You could play the dude at center and just instruct the Cavs to run other teams off the court for entire games.

The fact is that Dion had a better statistical projection than Barnes and he also improved his sophomore season in college, whereas Barnes regressed. Dion can create for himself and others. Barnes can not. Dion has an explosive first step. Barnes does not. There are numerous reasons that could be given for why Waiters was not only a better prospect but was a better pick and fit for this team.

Nah, I think it had more to do with the fact that Harrison Barnes sucks.

I've found that most people who talk in big absolutes like this are the first ones to buy tickets to the season opener and a fresh, new jersey on Ebay when it goes down. But I'm sure you're different...

I got my very first tangible sign today from a person close to Lebron's camp.. And numerous connections to our team that Lebron is going to be seriously considering the possibility of returning to the Cavs after next season. Apparently has made his thoughts known, but was telling this guy so that he can get a feel for how the Cavs/Gilbert/fans would view that eventual possibility. Found it very interesting... Seems like he's attempting to have back door communications established.

    Wouldn't go that far..

I mean, it's nothing we don't know already, or from what I have been told in the past few months anyway.

The reality is, LeBron's chances of returning are pretty high, but I can't stress enough that nothing is set in stone and anything can happen between now and the 2014 offseason.

Right. I think we know the agent I'm talking about that has ties to Lebron and a few of our top tier players. He's (Lebron's) got some family things too, that make it best he come back here as well as his kids get established in schools and not wanting to be uprooting them during those years etc.. But, it looks like it's starting to percolate along the back channels to weigh things moving forward. I think Gilbert has been aware of these intentions for a bit now, this is just the first face to face confirmation I have had with a solid source in the know.

Not the first time I have heard that. Has he tried in the past, or can you not say in this forum?

I don't know ...this is the first I've known, for sure, of his possible intentions from a direct source. I think a clear indication will be in following... where Savannah and kids settle in nearly fulltime over course of next 8-10 months..

Will I root for LeBron if he plays for the Cavs? Absolutely

Will I root for him if he doesn't? Nope

Does all of this feel kind of like a set up, where people in Cleveland begin supporting him again in the time leading up to 2014 Free Agency and then he says "ahhh, thanks but no thanks" therefore giving him the closure he seems to want or need ... meanwhile leaving us with our dicks in our hands? LOL, yeah, kind of
