I like Westbrook so I hope it doesn't happen, and he's not a Celtic so I wouldn't wish injury on him, but it's not far fetched to think he could get a severe injury given his style of play.
I think you're overestimating how reckless Westbrook really is. I don't see him being any more likely to get hurt than any other stud player.

You're looking at an awfully small amount of players that got hurt, Wade and Rose, and I just don't think it relates to any sort of trend.

Maybe not, and it's no secret that certain people are built differently than the average in terms of durability.

The Wolves only have 3 black guys on their active roster.. and only 1 sees consistent time off the bench and thats Dante Cunningham.

All white everything starting line up.

If the Wolves were to win the title do you guys think it would be a rallying cry for the confederacy?

JJ is playing out of his mind right now.

16 & 15 plus 3 blocks in only 23 minutes played for him so far.

I will never understand the Perkins trade for OKC. I understand they didn't want to pay Green but Perkins just does not fit with that team.

He was 25, and one of the best defensive centers in the league at the time.

The Lakers were coming off a title and had a monster front line, and OKC had no post presence.

The thinking was he was young and would grow with their core group, and they needed to get someone that could bang with Bynum.

For their situation, it actually made alot of sense.

Hmm, Perkins looked great because he had Garnett next to him and played on a half court team. He never fit with OKCs style of play. His huge weight loss made him less of a post defender. Tonight that was evident as Pek simply abused him.

Also, it is extremely unwise to structure your team to beat one opponent.

You also had Tim Duncan and the Spurs out there.

Tyson Chandler was with the Mavs.

    Bynum with the Lakers.

There were a lot of good centers in the west.

It was not unreasonable for them to be concerned about not having an option at center, and then trading for a young one who had championship experience and was committed to playing defense.

They didn't need someone to score points as they had that in droves, his job was just to body up opposing centers and play some defense.

People are looking at it in hind sight rather than putting yourself into the situation they were facing at the time where that was really their only big need.

Still the same need they have now. Go figure.
Please draft Alex "What if Paul Pierce were a 7'1 white center?" Len

Don't care how Grant, just make the shit happen.

The Cavs spent a whole off season through the trade deadline to match up with Orlando. Traded for Shaq, signed Moon and Parker to match Orlando's wings, traded for Jamison to match up with Lewis.

    Didn't work out so well.

Like most other things, it's actually ended up working out for them (even if Perkins isn't good anymore) because Green has ended up being worse (not to mention being out all of last season).
Patiently waiting for the day I can finally say "Daniel Gibson is no longer a Cavalier." It will be glorious.

clippers are the most underrated team in the league ainec. they've had a weaker schedule as of late but they are just crushing so hard. even without hill and billups. geez. it'll be interesting to see how they fare in january - schedule ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly.
