Slowing down dribble penetration and proper help defense would go a long way to helping kyrie to that end.

at some point this season the cavs will need to hold a team to under 50% shooting.

    Can't really blame Kyrie.

The rest of the team shot 33%. I can see why he didn't get any assists or felt he needed to take 21 shots.

Just gotta say this is pretty awesome. There is the drive into four nets ending with the pass to TT for the dunk. The look on the brooklyn players face under the net is just priceless..

Zeller is going to have a good career: he started showing again his finishing ability inside combined with good hustle and board work
There is a tension, peculiar to basketball, between the interests of the team and the interests of the individual. The game continually tempts the people who play it to do things that are not in the interest of the group.

Yeah, he looked good. His jumper will improve, too.

Oops posted my Zeller comment in the wrong thread.

I thought Irving was awful along with Waiters tonight. He didn't rotate the ball well and seemed to want to get into a one on one mindset against Holiday. It's going to be a problem if he develops a bad pattern of ballstopping by overdribbling like he did today.

Yeah there was one play in particular where Holiday really hunkered down on defense and Irving seemed to take it personally. He was dribbling and crossing like crazy then put up an errant floater/layup attempt.

Kyrie must improve his ability to run a team. Pargo at one point made a simple P&R with Thompson look simple - not like a miracle just occurred.

Holliday was awesome defensively last night, best I've seen a PG play on the ball D in a long time. But yes, way too much 1-1, where is the consistent pick and roll or pick and pop action? Byron Scott has to reign these guys in, either that, or he's all talk and just not a good coach. Which very well could be the case.

Agreed. Even with Andy it seems like Kyrie overcomplicates it.

Kyrie better have a shorter leash when he comes back. The second Byron sees him refuse to bust his ass on D, yank him out of there and put Pargo in.

Its not just his D though, he still needs seasoning on how to initiate and create for others better.

We are going to develop another LeBron-Iso type player without the right mentor for him to learn to run the point better.
